First off, my apologies for not keeping up on the Super Pool stats on The Disc Golf Scene this year (it's been a very hectic spring/sumer for me). Things have finally settled down and I want to recognize those here on 'The Scene' who have smashed aces this year. I have updated all aces and they should all show up on your pages as league aces.

Well, I made up another new course for tomorrow. Every hole is new and there are several Ace opportunities. It will be shorter (because of daylight) and the river should only come into play twice (throwing across from tee pad 10 to a certain basket and throwing across from tee pad #13 to basket #18). The river may come into play on one other throw, if you throw a bad shot. Should be a real fun course.

Random draw best shot. 5:15 sign-up. 5:30 tee off. $8/person plus $2 ace pool. Firefighters park.

The record amount of Super Pool aces in one season was 15 aces in 2009. Will we beat it, or will we not hit a Super Ace hit until July 2016 when it will be $3000??? See ya Monday.

All the holes that have been hit this year are 2, 6, 9, 13, 13, 14, 15, 15 and 16. Congrats to all.

So let it be written, let it be done. The Super Pool was finally hit by Nate Buban.

This is by far our record single ace. Quite possibly one of the biggest aces ever hit in the world. Nate Buban hit Hole #13 and cashed $1512 from The Super Pool and an additional $640 from the Mega Pool (not to mention $250 from the one dollar pool). For a whopping grand total of $2402 !!!!!

Welcome to the 2015 Super Pool. (Yes I am posting this one week late, but better late than never.)

This is the start of our 20th year of the Super Pool !!!

For 2014 The Super Pool started out at $873 and after one week we are already at $1065 !!! This amount is for people who were members last year (for new league members, The Super Pool is at $192).


The rules are the same as last year. They are as follows:

$3 per week (Make sure your name is on the sign-up sheet, or you are not eligible.)

Pays out 3/4 of the pot for an ace.

If more than one ace is hit, then they split the 3/4 equally (1/4 always carries over to the next week).

Anyone can participate for the first four weeks, however, you must be a MCCG member to participate by week #5.

You must have been a member last year to be eligible for the carry over money from 2014.

If you sign up for the Super Pool in the middle of the year and the Super Pool is $750 or more, you are only eligible for the weeks you put in (back pay for registration is not allowed). After four weeks of play in the Super Pool (on the fifth week), the new Super Pool member will be eligible for the entire pool (including the $750+ if it is still there). This is basically the same as the 'no carry over rule' at the beginning of the year. If you start contributing (consecutive weeks) when it is under $750 you are eligible for the entire pool.

If you signed up as a MCCG member in the first four weeks of the year (and did not play much, or at all), then you are still eligible for the entire Super Pool, even if it is over $750. So join early.

Sorry if this rule causes any confusion. It will actually probably not affect most of you who regularly play. This rule not only came from me, but from your input as well. If you have any questions or suggestions let me know.

The Mega Pool is in it's second year. For those of you unfamiliar with the Mega-Pool, it is basically a $20 side-bet for an ace.

The Mega Pool is a one-time $20 entry fee ace pool. When an ace is hit, the winner takes all. If multiple aces are hit, they split the pot evenly. Then it starts all over again (you must put $20 in again if you want to be eligible).

Congrats to last years winners Steve B. (Hole #14 - $280) and Brandon Dub (Hole #2 - $480).

The current Mega Pool is at $340.

Believe it or not, it was $1, yep that's right, one dollar shy of the solo Super Pool record of $937 (set by Zak Fortuna in 2013). But a huuuuuuge payday none-the less. Congrats to Steven. Nice shot. October 7th is the last night for the MCCG Monday night league. The following week we will start Super Safari at Firefighters, for those who are interested. We are going to play for two weeks on Monday, October 14th and the 21st. Alternate course both weeks.

Well the drought is over. Congratulations to Zak Fortuna. Zak aced Hole #8 Monday night cashing in for $937. Zak's ace beat the old single ace record set by Curtis Wendt on 05/23/11, who also hit hole #8 for $920. It was almost the highest Super Pool jackpot ever, which was $1002 split by Colin Cox and Sheldon Hedgespath on 10/02/06.

Zak also got $250 from the $1 ace pool for a grand total of $1187. Congratulations Zak. Excellent job!

I am implementing a new rule to the Super Pool.

Effective immediately any new member who joins the league when the Super Pool is over $500 is only eligible for the weeks they put into the Super Pool. AFTER they have been present (in attendance) for four weeks, they are then eligible for the entire pot on the fifth week of attendance.

I am doing this to curtail the people who come out of the woodwork to try and win the Super Pool after all of us members and faithful Super Pool players have been putting our money into this pool week after week.

Anyone who had joined prior to this week (i.e. if you joined last week) is grandfathered in.

I hate rules as much as the next guy, but I think almost all of you will agree with me on this. I have talked with league members and they also agreed. If you have any questions please see me.

Hello all, back by popular demand is Steve's Super Safari league. The league will start on the first Monday after the MCCG league ends. On week one we will be playing all of the odd tees to the even baskets.

It will be held for 2 Mondays, beginning October 8th and ends the following Monday, October 15th, 2011. We may add one more week (October 22nd) if enough people want to play a third week.

Registration begins between 5:30 and 5:50 pm. Tee off at 6 pm.
Cost is $5 per person / doubles format / Random Draw. $2 Ace pool.
