The past 2 summers I (Mike Durco) have been involved with the camp. Last summer I was a guest at camp for a day and taught the kids how to play disc golf. This year I was asked to be a counselor and disc golf was an activity again. All of the kids really enjoyed playing disc golf! The camp is really amazing as are all of the kids and volunteers.
About Adventure Amputee Camp:
The mission of the Adventure Amputee Camp is to encourage children with amputations or limb differences to stretch their potential and imagination, and explore all that is possible.
Camp activities include river rafting, high ropes and water skiing. All activities are modified as necessary to meet the ability and interest level of each camper. Other activities (which include bowling, crafts, games, swimming, and disc golfing) may provide many campers an experience that was previously untried, unobtainable, or unimaginable.
The Adventure Amputee Camp provides children with amputations the opportunity to nurture the beliefs and behaviors that many things are possible.
Amputee Adventure Camp is funded 100% by donations. And each child gets to go for free!
We hope to see you at Fallasburg for this worthy cause to help wonderful kids!!!
