About this tournament
1 round of play
Creekside Open XIX Am Weekend will be held in memory of our friend Heather Gerlach. She was such a bright and happy influence to all around her, and her loss is felt by all who knew her.
Heather ran the Roots side of the Creekside Open last year. On Nov. 7th she passed away after a long battle with health issues. In honor of her Creekside Open will be Wonder Woman themed.
This year will be a little different in that the Amateur weekend will be trophy only. For those unfamiliar with this, it means that instead of winners getting a ton of discs or things, they get a trophy. This allows a TD to allocate the money to a better player's pack for everyone. In this way everyone benefits. When all is said and done, I can't remember any of my winnings from Am tournaments, but I love all my trophies.
Another change is that it will be three rounds instead of four. Two round will be played on Saturday and one final round on Sunday. The layout will change between Sat and Sunday. You can expect brutal course layouts. This is a huge tournament, and I love the idea of truly testing my skills in a tournament. It'll be a blast!
Please note there will be a $10 fee for canceling your registration, meaning I will refund all but $10 of your registration, up till the close of registration, at which time there will not be a refund. Issuing refunds is one of the most annoying thing for a TD to deal with in the week leading up to a tournament. If you need to withdraw in that final week I will hold a player's pack for you though.
Finally, I want to thank all our volunteers and help. A tournament simply can't function without many hands helping, so thank you one and all. If you wish to volunteer for the Pro weekend, please contact me or Brittany Smith.
