Blackhurst Family Fundraiser
About this tournament
Chris Blackhurst has been playing in the TCDG for a long time, and also runs the Friday night doubles league at Sanford. Recently his wife was diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma. They recently found out it is minimum of stage 4 with a large mass of cancer cells, and type B is symptomatic. This means the cancer has spread to other organs.
His wife has been the one working while they have been trying to figure out everything medically because their insurance is through his job. Once chemotherapy starts, she won't be able to work, and they'll still have to pay their normal bills ON TOP of the crazy medical bills.
This is a pair of one round tournaments to raise money to help his family through this tough time. This is not a two day tournament. Saturday and Sunday are separate events. Each day will have it's own 18 CTPs, 50/50, and Ace pool.
Saturday's round starts at NOON.
Sunday's round starts at NOON.
There is no flex start, both days will start at noon, and they will both be their own separate event.
THE ONLY THING THAT CARRIES BETWEEN BOTH DAYS IS THE RAFFLE. The raffle will be for a brand new basket and some other prizes. Tickets will be available for purchase for:
$5 for 1
$10 for 3
$20 for 7
Each item will be raffled off individually. You can buy tickets at Freeland on 8/2, Midland on 8/3, or Sanford on 8/4. Tickets will also be for sale during both tournament rounds. The raffle will happen after the event on Sunday. We'll post a live feed of the raffle when it happens.
Let's show everyone how tight the disc golf community is and have a great showing for this event. THERE WILL BE A CTP ON EVERY HOLE, BOTH DAYS. We've got lots of awesome giveaways for this.
