Due to a late addition tournament at Kensington this Saturday, the Kensington league round deadline will be extended through June 2 and round five at Palmer is available now. Be aware that a pretty large league plays every Sunday morning at Kensington.

There were some nice scores both at Lyons Den and Wagner, and Denny's solid play makes him the first player to jump a division this season, moving up to the National Division.

This begs the question, "What happens to the points I earned in a different division?" Once you finally "settle" into a division for the season, I will have to figure out what your score would have been playing in the new division and award points accordingly.

Next week, we will be traveling to the South Green course at Kensington. We will be playing the LONG tees. Bring your bazooka arm and good luck!

Hey Jeff. Mistake on the scorecard I submitted for Brock. He got a birdie on hole 14 at Wagner. Thanks!

Thanks. I can’t edit UDisc scores but I’ll reflect it in the standings here on DG Scene.

With the storms occurring Tuesday evening, there’s no way that Lyons Den will dry out this week. As a result, I have extended Lyons Den through Sunday, May 19, and opened up Round 3 at Wagner starting tomorrow in case anyone would like to play Wagner while we wait for Lyons Den to dry out.

From UDisc user yesterday:

Caution
Course is horrible right now. Swamp everywhere and hasn’t even been cut yet. Grass over a foot long pretty much everywhere. I left and didn’t even finish!

Great turnout for Round One! Congrats to all our winners, and welcome newcomers Christiaan, Jim, TJ, and Denny. Next week's round takes us to the Lyon Den at Atchison Park. There are a lot of OB notes, so make sure you are checking your UDisc Player Notes. Be aware that Hole 15 is an island hole with a drop zone. Good luck, everyone!

Due to yesterday’s partial closure, the deadline for Sorensen has been extended to 5/12 on UDisc.

Looks like everyone was able to get their round in, so round one will complete at 9 pm tonight.

In other news related to Sorensen, the neighbor by Holes 2 & 3 has a trail cam behind this area pointed at the park. You might be having pictures taken unknowingly, so you might want to use discretion when relieving yourself unless you plan to use this as your audition into the world of porn. The course apologizes and plans to build a natural wall to serve as a barrier

Just found out that Sorensen Park is closed today (5/2) for a “controlled burn.” My apologies for those who made the trip and were denied access to the course. There was no communication about the closure on Sorensen’s comment page on DG Scene.

I was told that the park reopened at 5 pm today.

Welcome to the 2024 season! If you are new and haven't done so already, please contact me with some round scores for courses and layouts in the area so I can calculate a handicap and place you in a division. Our season opens up on Monday at Sorensen Park in Holly. We will be playing the Main Layout which utilizes the short tee pads. Be sure to read and follow the OB (out of bounds) notes on UDisc for your round. As always, please reach out if you have any questions. Good luck, everyone!
