Sunday’s game @ Holly Woods 10:00 a.m.

This Sunday we are heading out to Holly Recreational area to play the ponderous course that is HollyWoods. We are also going to start our Winter Points series, the idea is to award first, second and third with points (1st = 3 points, 2nd = 2 points and 3rd = 1 point) the rest of the crowd will have to try again next week to gain their points. Sunday's game RAID ON YPSI DUBS @ BRATS!! 10:30 a.m.

This is our first Sunday round of the month, and as such we are going on a raiding parrrrty. We chose to bring the CHA! out to our friends of Ypsi Dubs who just so happen to be playing out at one of our favorite private courses BRATS!!.
They run a Cash game and any questions on their game can be answered by the council or by asking their league admins. If you plan on attending please add your self to the game on the home page here and also send your info to one of the ypsi dubs admins so they can add you to the league prior to Sunday.

Friday’s game Indy Lake, 5:30 Tee

This Friday will be our last Friday Night happy hour for the year and the people have chosen Chuck D to host our final night. We are chasing the sun so plan on playing a tad faster than usual and maybe smaller groups to ensure we have enough light to play.

We in the council would like to thank all those whom have come out and shared a laugh with us over the summer months. We have had some outstanding times and got to play alongside of some of Michigan’s finest player on some of the best courses. A big shout out to the Private course owners who opened their lands for us to pillage and plunder.
We are going to be making some minor “Tweaks” starting this winter to give a little more CHA to our regular program; this will include point’s series where we will be awarding 1st, 2nd and 3rd places points with possible multipliers for playing in blizzards, freezing temps and other absurd conditions.

Friday’s game is at Kensington, tee off 5:30

This week we are finally headed out the buggy madness that is Black Locust and take the pirate stab at some mighty fine DG. I would expect to play in smaller than normal groups to try and beat out the sun, and it might be a good idea to bring some glow’s or led’s just in case we get caught with the lights out. Tee off will be as close to 5:30 as I can get, as I’m coming in from downtown A2. Will be playing last man rules after te ... more

The switch to Sundays is drawing near, but we have yet to establish a set date for the change. Might think about doing the same as last year and play our last Friday at Da Mer closing the season out with a round of glowies from the shorts. But s always we look to the voters to guide us.

Set amongst the sprawling urban landscape, a small slice of Disc Golf. A safe haven for the pirates of the deuce. We find ourselves venturing to one of our most beloved courses to set our eyes upon the glory that is Brown Park. Only the truly divine could navigate through the winding roads and rest their weary bones amongst the wildlife that calls Mill Creek home. $5 Friday game at Rolling Hills Tee Off 5:45 SHARP

This week we shall hoist anchor and set sail to the Ypsi Dubs stomping grounds that is Rolling Hills. We shall journey through the ‘Skeeter ridden fairways in hope of tapping into the ace pool. This is our First Friday cash game so brings the monies and also your ‘A’ Game. Tarzan and maybe some dirrrtys will be voted on as optional side games.

Nestled in the famous creek bed we will find ourselves facing a mixture of long and short holes that will rival flip city in grandeur.. Who am I kidding, I’ve never played here and all the reviews point to this being a good place for the pirates to run some shenanigans and our normal rounds of Yeah me eff you.

We are setting sail to the glory that is Cass Benton, for all those who have never been out to Cass you are in for a treat. This course boasts the most scenic views of Northville, Virtually no casuals, and a well-kept course that should be the standard for all tree maintenance and care. A stroll through the woods out here is like playing the Masters in Augusta only in Michigan and will undoubtedly leave you asking “Why”.

Friday Lakeshore. 5:30 meet 6:00 tee time

For those who didn't catch some of the gibber gabber this week this is our double points week with the Co-op point series. It's also Beer fest so we called it Lake Shore ahead of time to make sure that we would be nice and close for folks that want to enjoy the best of both worlds. As States is quickly approaching we will be having our last Berth allocation Friday for a $5 buy in. So bring out the CHAAA, and your A game this week. We'll be set to meet up by 5:30 and Tee by six pm. $5 Berth game is a optional side game for those who favor the games of chance.

This Friday we are setting sail to one of our favorite ports. This was one of the courses that started it all for most of us and now we get to play on the redesign and reminisce of how great it used to be. We will more than likely playing Tarzan (.25 sack) as well as ace pool and Dirrrrrrty, strong chance of playing some safari holes as well as the normal shenanigans.

$5 Friday. Hudson Mills.. Meet up 5:30 Tee Off 6:00.

This week is another $5 First Friday game and we are heading out to play Hudson Mills and enjoy the lush foliage and avoid the Carnies of Lakeshore. We are meeting up at 5:30 and tee off is set for 6:00, Last man rule is in effect. I would expect side games on top of the normal shenanigans, as well as a visit from the traveling throw shop (If there is anything special you want just give a shout to Ben C and see if he can make it happen)

This Friday we are heading out to Cass Benton in Northville. Meeting at 5:30pm and Teeing off at 6:00 Sharp. Good times to be had by all at this once awesome course. Fallen trees, Cass-uals, and loads of other unmentionable encounters and fun should make this a true Pirate Round.

24 Chains @ Flip City! Saturday May 28th!!!

Just a friendly reminder everyone. Saturday May 28th we will be playing a special league round at Flip City. This is the day before the AJ Open at Flip City. If you need a place to camp for that weekend please ask Dave Schrag or Raymond Karle. They both have the information you will need. Easter Sunday Sillyness

OK so if anyone did happen to look at the scores from this past weeks game and wonder just how some none pro players all shot double dig down? Well it's cause we played the most interesting game of WOLF ever with 8 players and a whole lot of sillyness. Just to give prop to the players for doing what they did best the break down of points went as so

This week we are heading out to go play at Hudson Mills for a little warm up for the ChaChi round and 1-Disc later this month. We raided our friends at Club Kensington on Sunday to spread a little 24 Chains Cheer, What we did not tell you guys that we also brought along a berth to the State Finals. Ran an option side game and Dale Wrobel won the Berth to the state finals shooting -11 on 21 holes. It was a great day for golf and an even better day to be a Pirate….. CHA!!!

Sunday RAID on Kensington, Tee off 11:45

It’s been a long time coming but the day is here, we are heading north raid the players of Club Kensington and spread a little Pirate CHA!!! They have many side games and their ace pool sits at $415 ($205 pay out). We can meet up to car pool to take the sting out of the gate fee but as it comes to their pay to play I have no relief. Yes you read right! We are playing Ypsilanti's own Waterworks in 6"+ snow. Bring quarters because we WILL be playing Quarter Sack! All trees hit will cost a quarter, chance of winning the bag of quarters at the 9th hole. Sunday Service to be held at Bandemer, Tee off @ 10 a.m.

The last time we played Bandemer was back in October for our last “Friday Knightz happy hourz”. Yes it has been 3 months at least since we have been out there and it’s about time we return back for more fun and runs on the Ace Pot ($90).

Avast ye scurvy dogs and degenerate pirates alike, Tis time that we rally the salty dogs and take the show to the port of Ypsi Dubs at Rolling Hills. This will be the first raid in a long time to go a visit our fellow frozen throwers. First and foremost 24 Chains has always been, and will strive as hard as possible to keep our league free, and for the players first. There will at times be cost that are outside of our control such as park cost, and pay to play cost. We understand that this ... more

There has been a fair share of on wall conversations, and person emails between several members, and staff as of late. I'm taking just a short amount of your time to explain just a few simple things.

First and foremost 24 Chains has always been, and will strive as hard as possible to keep our league free, and for the players first. There will at times be cost that are outside of our control such as park cost, and pay to play cost. We understand that this will play a roll in each person’s choice weather they play or not that week. We will never look down on anyone who chooses not to play weather it is for the cost, the drive, or even the weather (but we reserve the right to heckle you if you say it's too cold for you).

Second seems to be the topic of concern as of late. 24 Chains stands alone in our design of play. No other league has been successful in doing what we do with the player having a say in the course, the game, the time, the cost, and other aspects of format that may occur. However while we do encourage this participation to all members. Those same members need to be aware that the final decision falls to the three heads of 24 Chains. Gabe Dotson the founder and President of 24 Chains. Jeremiah Swain Co-founder, and Vice President. Raymond Karl Head Chair. The actions taken by 24 Chains are theirs to decide for it is our responsibility to help represent 24 Chains to the other leagues. We will always try to let our personal influence be the last, or at least the least of the deciding vote on games. However there will be few times when we will have to decide what we feel is best for the group as a whole when there is conflict of interest. We have always held being respectful to the players in high regard cause without each one of you this could have never become what it is today.

The Third idea I would like to share deals with our representation at, and with other leagues. We always promote our players to be members of other leagues for we are all part of the same (very small) subculture. We are known for be a fun bunch, and a bit rowdy. However our format allows us to play with more conservative leagues who invite us to play. When ever another club has already established themselves as a weekly at a park at a certain time we will respect that club. If they are open to us joining them, and the vote decided to join them we will play by their design. This point is not negotiable. We enjoy being part of someone else’s game, and look forward to being invited back. With that in mind we will always show them the respect they show us with the invite by not disrupting their play style. This may mean fees that we do not normally carry. We will try to make their cost known to you before the round is decided so you can choose weather or not to attend.

Finally to help deal with some of the current and I'm sure future conflicts. Votes for the upcoming week’s game should be posted by noon on Tuesday with any adjustments a player would like to make such as start time, possible side games, and even offering up the idea for a friendly cash round. This way we all have time to make our voice be heard about how we feel on each topic before the Thursday final vote comes in. We will still take in to consideration all comments made after noon Tuesday, but understand that it is in the interest of all players that we do make this system more functional as we continue to grown

So this Sunday (Halloween) we are heading back to Willow to meet up with some of our close friends, we are teeing off at 10:00AM so show up a little to join in the pre round fun and games. Ypsi Dubs will be out for a scare as well as the Night Moose playing later that afternoon (2PM) to take a crack at the chains. We are playing a $5 cash game of dubs, also planning on having at least 2 growlers for the pre-round CTP, as well as a Gift Certificate from the Throw Shop and other goodies that ... more

Ace pool is climbing to a nice little cash out, and dirty $$$ has almost become a standard but this course would be brutal for .25 sack A.K.A Tarzan. We will do some course clean up as we play to make sure that “Dyeing to throw II” has it a little nicer than usual. We will get started as lose to 5:30 as we can and any late joine ... more

This Friday the Pirates and friends there of are setting sail towards BRATS to join in the celebration of Terry "The Pirate" Calhouns birthday!!
This course is awesome for those who have yet to play it, I would expect a great turnout and tons of fun and shenanigans.. Ace pool, Dirty Dollars, Dubs for cash.. Who knows what the Kaptins are going to think up for this event. All games are optional and as always are put to a vote prior to the game.. All thou we've played Dirty and .25 sack for the last couple weeks and are great optional games for those whom like games of chance.
Miah "It's not that far!" Swain and Ray "The Duder" Karle are the go to guys for this event for I have family obligations that came up and cannot attend...

Fridays game, Brown Park @ 5:30

This Friday we are playing at LakeShore and doubling up on our points!!.. Expect CTP's and Dirty Dollars (optional) also might be some side action going on but that will depend on the group your in or the players day of. We are playing a free game with the option of $1 ace pool. which pays out 50% so you are looking at $70 take home at this point. But that # should go up with the people on Friday... This week's game is going to go down at B.R.A.T.S private course in Ann Arbor. For direction's you can email me or they are also posted on discgolfscene and pdga sites. Just in case anyone is lost about last Friday's Happy Hour @ Rolling Hills. Steve-O, K.C., and myself all made it on time for the regular round. Some other got tied up in traffic. So being the good sports we were, and having just a few more pints of blood to give to the masquitos we played the front 9 a second go to help the late bloomers get in their full round. LAST SUNDAY BEFORE WE SWITCH TO FRIDAYS

It's only fitting we end our winter/spring league Sundays at "DA MER." Come play with us Sunday at 10 am. This will be rain or shine, so BE PREPARED!

Wednesday we will be at the Annual A3 One Disc Challenge. We will be getting there at 12pm for a early round as well as preparing for the event. Come hang out and play with us.

Happy Easter!

We played Cass Benton today. Hickey came out and Sweeney fron the Motor City Chain Gang came out to play 18. Sweeney took home a 24 Chains Custom Dyed Drone and Hickey won the runner up Motor City Chain Gang donated Champion Panther. This was a great game as the sun was out and it was a beautiful day. Hickey provided a pint of captain and we played a solid game on easter! We are all looking forward to next weeks game.

We are having a work day this saturday starting at 8AM at the group camp course (part of hudson mills metropark). we will be looking for the metal sleeves that were put in the ground in 2000 for worlds ran by A3. They are all buried or grown over. So we have at least 1 of the original course designed maybe both coming out to help us find them. We have found a metal detector to use, more would be fantastic. We need people with shovels to dig for the sleeves ... more

If anybody has a GPS unit to mark the coordinates of the sleeves when found would be a huge help.
Let me know if you can make it even if not at 8AM later is fine to. Gunars (1 of the original course designers) is coming but has to leave by noon. The rest of us can continue to work if not finished until done or time runs out.
This course is located to the north of Hudson mills metropark, right across the street from the park entrance. Entrance is north on huron river dr about .5 miles on the left.

What a great game! On my home course up north in Midland's Chippewa Banks. It turned out to be a beautiful day of disc golf with old friends and new friends all on a course I haven't played since I moved downstate. Thank you Craig Prime for getting the word out. So this week..
I'm out of town till monday, Miah as well.. I dont know what ray has on the plate but I think I herd something about going to bay city?.. There is a tourney going on at rolling hills that alot of people are opting to goto other then play leagues. We can still use this and disc golf scene to make a game for those that are in town but I'm not planning a round as of yet.

Cass Benton BBQ

To all those who came out, Thank you! I had a great time. We couldn't have had a better day to play. 10am tee time proved well. We all met up to the sounds of someone playing french horn in the park. Definitely made for a good soundtrack to our just for fun game. Brian from Kzoo (+5) ended up taking the win followed by a newcomer,Tim (+10) who tied with yours truly (+10)["Yeah I know!"]). After the game we drove to a secluded park for the BBQ. We ended up sharing the site with a little league baseball team who we all taught to play disc golf. All in all a great day! Thanks guys!!! CHAAAAAA!!!

Cali Dubs? depending on amount showing up

Tomorrows game will be held at Rolling Hills. If someone needs a ride in to avoid the price of parking I will be stopping into the Kroger Parking lot, I will however be getting there later due to work cutting out at 5pm. Depending on the amount of people playing I was hoping to play California Dubs.

Friday @ Hudson Mills 5:30-ish

This weeks game will be held at Hudson Mills. More then likely going to be on the O.G. course We'll figure out the rest of the details when we get there as far as layout for this weeks game, As allways free to all. side games are optional.

Friday @ Rolling Hills 'Round 5-ish

This weeks game will be at Rolling Hills, Friday at 5-ish. for anyone that wants to meet up before the game I will be at the Kroger on Huron st by 5 to car pool. Other then that ACE pool is up to $119 and ChaChi will be in effect this week. I'm open for side games .25 sack, $2-$5 game and any other side games we can think of, but as allway's there optional.

Friday @ Bandemer 'Round 5 ish

This weeks game will be held at Bandemer at the same meeting time of 5-ish with a tee off as soon as we can. Ace Pool is in full effect and tipping the scale at over $100, so come and get your $50 pay out.. If enough people agree we might due the $2 winner's take all game that we did last week we might try it again.. Or other games could be going on.. .25 sack, ript.. who knows.
It's allways free if your strapped so no worries on not having it.. any questions feel free to ask..

FryDay @ EMU 'Round 5-ish

Friday Night's game is going to be a EMU with a possible game at waterworks after. Usual time of 5 ish and tee of as soon as we can (5:30). Might be a cash game going but not totally 100% so bring some cash if you feel like tossing in (optional), some talk of .25 sack, ript or other fun.

Friday @ LakeShore 5$ Doubles at 5-ish

This weeks game is going to be at LakeShore. and as the header says we're planning a 5$ buy in for a pro/am doubles game. More then likely to be 18 holes but not totally sure yet. Ace pool is also running and is looking for a good home. sitting at the 80$ range now so someone could take home 40$ plus the dub's loot. Could make your weekend nicer or the Throw shop a little richer. Time is as allways aroung 5:00 meeting and aiming for a 5:30 tee off. call if running late or question in general.

FryDay @ Rollin 5-ish

Bring out Ye bug spray and call a friend to car pool cause this week we're heading out to Rolling Hill's. Game day is Friday as allways with a meet time of 5-ish at the warm up basket. Ace pool is up to 76$ and rays quarter sack game might be in effect for those that feel like making some laundry loot.
Contact one of us if you feel like carpooling and taking a bit of the sting out of the 5$ entry fee.

Body of thSo.. To be totally clear. This weeks game is off, You can call it a buy week if you want to. Miah has to work late, I got a wedding to goto and ray is getting hammered with the cheese heads.

it's that time again.. FryDay game this week will be held at "Da Mer" a.k.a. Bandemer. Ace pool is in full effect and almost at 60$.. with all of us able to knock one down at Da Mer it'll more then likely be a good day for someone. (provided they cough up the 1$ for ace pool) Format will be decided at 5-ish and game will start as soon as we have enough bodys to go. If by some chance we start before you get there just let out the battle cry "BROWN PARK" or "CHA". cell phones work too ;).
