When are the baskets going in on the picnic. Would like to get some Friday practice in but need it to be an am round?

You could hit a tree next to the basket, split the disc, and have half go in.

Ben Calhoun    October 14, 2010 at 4:09am

You could AVERAGE it over many rounds..

The new tee pads are great. Nice job with placement and most are wide enough, long enough and level enough. Any slight imperfections give the locals the minor advantage we need and deserve.

Hole 8 is our attempt at an homage to Hudson Mills. Many of the holes have short and long tees directly in front of each other. That said, this one turned out a little closer than I had envisioned, although there is a 30 ft. difference from front to front of the pads.

even new and dirty, i think the pads are amazing, but dont understand why there are two on hole eight when you can jump from one to the other.

aside from the pad changes the overall course cleanup including trimming and bridge work is top notch.

it would be nice to have a window to the pin from the right white pad on seven.

Black tee discussion:
We did change 18 but the overall effect I think is a wash since we moved both the basket and tees back. 15 was made longer so will that mean less deuces? probably. 7 and 8 were both made longer, not by much though. Agreed that the consistent surface of a concrete pad will shave a few strokes off the typical round. We also have a very dry (no ponds on 6 and 16) and more cleared out course so the net effect I think is a few strokes better than it was at some point say the middle of the summer 2010.

exactly what Jim says, even with cement the white layout is tougher, the black was maybe 1 stroke tougher due to new #16 but with cement, erases that maybe makes it 0.5-1 stroke easier

agree that the whites are harder, I think the blacks are easier only because there are now cement tees which really help on full power drives. I think the Black tees overall are slightly more difficult than the course config of a year ago but the value of the cement tees overcomes that.
