COURSE IS CLOSED INDEFINITELY for 2015 season.
Address:
2334 Oakway, Detroit, MI
Local Directions: Enter the island and stay left. Go straight on Central Ave past the large statue in the middle of the 4-way intersection. Left on Portage Way (if you are in the woods you went too far) and the parking lot for the disc golf course is on your right behind an abandoned concession stand building. Course entrance is on the other side of Oakway near where the old golf course pro shop building is located.
A short history:
Belle Isle began in 2011 in a temporary spot with a tournament called Battle at the Belle. The founders, Chris Haag and Joe Robinson, dreamt that disc could be a sport that would blossom in Detroit. Thanks to the foundation laid by legends such as Foz Miller, Jim Kenner, and John Minicuci, the sport has exploded in the glove state. The Belle Isle crew has worked tirelessly to secure a long-term deal with the State DNR to bring you a course you are proud to call home. Please bear in mind that while being under state control, the team at Detroit Disc Golf are financially responsible for the course. Please help support us by following us here, and on Facebook, and most important of all COME TO THE ISLE!
The crew of the Detroit Disc Golf Course on Belle Isle is determined to make this one of the states best. We are open to your feedback and if you would like to be a part of the course please message us. [email redacted]
