Just opened is a new course at the Johnson Road United Methodist Church. It is currently 9 with plans to expand to 18. It is open now, open to the public. It is on Johnson Road east of Hametown Road, just before you reach Wooster Road.
Opening in the next month is a new course at Silver Creek Metro Park's Cross-Country Course. It is on Medina Line Road, just North of Johnson Road and South of the railroad track (NOT at the main Metro Park grounds). There is a paved parking lot and permanent restroom facilities there. It will have 18 holes, 1 set of tees (concrete tees already poured!) and Mach X baskets. It is LONG (>9000ft) and recommended for experienced players only due to the length and areas on the back 9 in particular that are very challenging. This will be a destination course and is designed for tournament play. It may be closed each fall, as the priority use of the park is as a college and high school cross-country course, though it may end up being only on event days. The baskets are anticipated to be installed by the end of November, and signage completed in the spring. Stay tuned for more details in the coming weeks!
