About this tournament

Event Name: 2020 Winter is Coming (Am & Pro Days)
Event Date: September 12 & 13, 2020

Hello and thank you for your participation in the 2020 Winter is Coming tournament hosted by Delaware Disc Golf at Iron Hill.
Please note that this email will serve in place of a players meeting and that participants may ask questions up to the close of check-in both days. Below you will find some basic tournament guidelines and special requests for the event. Regarding these guidelines and requests I personally am asking that you adhere to for the benefit of having a disc golf event at a time when stress is high and there are a lot of unknowns. I believe that to continue to host and participate in events our community must lead by example. If you feel that any request or guideline does not meet your beliefs or opinion simply request a withdraw or simply do not come to the event. My goal is to have a fun, competitive and safe event and everyone’s cooperation to exceed that goal is greatly appreciated.
Other then that and the information below lets all have a great weekend and a fun time!!!
Guidelines Regarding Covid-19
If you are not feeling well or have been around someone that has been ill you are advised by the PDGA, CDC, the State of Delaware and the DDG Club not to attend this event.
Mask and/or cloth face covering must be worn when social distancing cannot occur during the entire event. This means while on the course, during break and after the event. Social distancing guidelines provided from the CDC and State of Delaware must be adhered to.
All Participants must adhere to PDGA, CDC and State of Delaware Guidelines regarding event and competition during this time. Failure to adhere to these will result in immediate disqualification from the event.
General Tournament Rules
1. It is the responsibility of the participant to know the course layout and have a clear understanding of the PDGA rules and Competition Manual. Questions are allowed prior to the start of the event.
2. All participants in this event will acknowledge that there are walking paths that intersect with the disc golf course. If park patrons are utilizing the walking paths, please respectfully wait for them to pass or utilize a spotter to ensure safety. This is a park with a disc golf course not the other way around. The course is closed to casual play.
3. There are no mandatories on the course and no two-meter penalties. Ob’s/Hole Information are listed below and attached and within the course information listed under pictures on either discgolfscene.com tournament page.
4. SPOTTING - It is the responsibility of each player to watch their throws, but it is mandatory for all players to assist with spotting for their card mates. There are a lot of leaves on the course and speed of play is important at Iron Hill. If a player is searching for their disc, ALL the players on the card must assist, and a 3-minute clock/timer MUST be used. After 3 minutes if the disc cannot be found that player must return to their previous lie and assess 1 penalty stroke. Example: A player throws their tee shot and cannot locate it after the 3-minutes has expired, that player must re-tee.
5. For OB’s, if any shot is thrown out of bounds that player will play their next shot from where the disc was last in bounds. There are no drop zones.

Tournament Schedule (Saturday & Sunday)

All course info, order of play and layout order will be loaded in the app
• You may warm up on the course prior to each round and I would ask that if you are just putting please do that on your assigned starting hole. There are two baskets per hole so there is enough room.
• If a player misses their tee time or tee shot in the rotation after time has expired, they will receive par plus four additional strokes. Continue play and continue in that process until they are present on the next hole.

7:30am – 8:30am – Mandatory Check-In with TD (This will be done at the picnic table located by the parking lot)
• Each player must check-in with the TD.
• All AM’s will be receiving a choice of 2 discs as a player’s pack. Am’s may claim their discs before or during lunch. Am’s that leave prior to payouts will be forfeiting their winnings.
• For scoring purposes if you are at the top of the card you will be the designated score keeper through the PDGA digital score card for that round, as back up you may use a paper card or UDisc app (note UDisc is not connected to live scoring and will not be a substitute for the scoring app)
• At the end of each hole each player must confirm their score by entering their last name or PDGA number

9:00am – Round 1 (White Layout, short pad to gold basket), 2-minute warning called at 8:58am

Break/Lunch – 45 min for lunch break after the last has confirmed their scores
