Thanks to all who attended and helped out at the 2018 Shootout. It was interesting this year...the "big guns" were gone early. Marty Peters was the winner over Miles Hansel on the last hole. Dan Treece was third, Eric Dingman (AM 2 champ) was fourth, and Freddy Flores (AM 3 raffle winner) was fifth. Andrew Marwede shot three straight rounds in the 1020 neighborhood to win the "regular" portion of the tournament (50 south, 48 north, 49 south). Our food vendor, Drive ... more
You could just have Ams play Cade Lake third round and with travel time, probably would work out a bit closer on time :)

I will not be in attendance this weekend as I’m dealing with a hefty amount of sunburn.
I believe someone else will be picking up the players pack for me. Thank you

so schedule of courses. what division plays where each day? shoot out slots for each division?
who.s playing the playoff on Sunday afternoon? looking forward to your tournament but don't wont to shoot in the dark...my game needs all the help it can get...lol. Thanks Tim
Oh, sorry Donnie. Pros and am 1 play longs south, north, south. am 2 plays north longs, south and north shorts. all others play north, sotuh, north shorts. shootout will depend on how many divisions we end up with, but basically some MPO, MP40, winners of am 1, 2, 3 plus raffle winners.
Does that mean as FA1 I play with MA1 on longs? If yes, go ahead and switch me to FA2. For N, S, N... thanks!
Jack Bungart July 11, 2018 at 8:33pm
What is the shootout portion? Is it for everyone? Pros only, etc?
shootout will be MPO, MP40...some division winners...and raffle winners.

Andrew Marwede just shot -6 at the famed Toboggan course in the first round of the Great Lakes Open. He'll be at the Shootout. Ryan Herzog is -3 through 11, he'll also be at the Shootout.

Damaged/incorrect signs have been replaced. Also, bent baskets on South (Original) holes 5 and 10 have been replaced.
Include Cade Lake or ViRa and make it a 2day a-tier. The coolers being out there really saved everyone from heat related health issues
Yeah, we're already considering including Cade Lake, and Vicksburg is one of my favorite courses (even though it kicks my butt).
It was well done either way you look at it, Personally I think you will have higher numbers if it was made a 1 day tournament. It would bring many players from further away.
Good idea. We've also discussed it. Thanks for the input. (And, I'll bring your scoreboard to league Thursday)
Exactly jaron
I like the two day format, but it definitely would have received higher participation as an A-tier. Multi-day tournaments require higher expense for most players (food, lodging, etc), so they want it to be worth their while. Multi-day tournaments require higher expense for most players (food, lodging, etc), so they want it to be worth their while. I know there is so much more that goes into hosting an event of that size, but if you did a 4-round A-tier (maybe one round each at Broadway, one at Cade, one at VIRA or Oshtemo, I think you would draw pretty huge numbers. Aside from that, you guys did an amazing job. I love all the awesome prizes and the Shoot-out is so much fun. Thanks for an awesome tournament guys!
I agree with Tim L.
If it's going to remain a 2day then A tier is almost a must. The only time I've traveled a few hours for a 2day has been for atiers
Really appreciate the feedback. It'll be discussed, but I'm thinking one day at this point (subject to change). The A Tier in GR this weekend has 43 entrants right now.
Yeah the Friday round made it a no go for myself
True, it is 3 days and one course for pros/one for ams. One of the biggest issues is there are so many events in the state/area every weekend now it's tough to fill.
