Welcome to the Prodigy x NHL Challenge @ MBP brought to you Prodigy Disc Canada and the organizers of Wednesday Night Marilyn Bell Park Glow League. The Prodigy x NHL Challenge will be a friendly one night competition to celebrate the sport of disc golf and the launch of Prodigy x NHL Officially Licensed Discs!
START TIME: 6:30-7 PM (Registration / Disc Pick-Up), 7-9:30 PM
SHOTGUN START - 2 x 9H rounds + Ace Run Challenge.
EVENT WILL TAKE PLACE RAIN OR SHINE!
Registration Opens May 3rd. Registration will CLOSE at 11:59 PM on Wed May 15th.
This is an unsanctioned singles event - Maximum 45 players
All participants that register will receive a set of three (3) NHL Prodigy Discs, each containing:
One (1) FX-4 (Black) Fairway Driver 200 Plastic Disc
- Flight Numbers: 9/5/-2/2
One (1) Distortion Approach 400 Plastic Disc
- Flight Numbers: 4/3/0/3
One (1) P Model S Base Plastic Disc
- Flight Numbers: 3/5/0/2
NOTE: All NHL Club discs are subject to availability. If your first and second choice options are not available, we will work to arrange another option for you.
Unfortunately both the Montreal Canadiens and the Buffalo Sabres discs are currently out of stock.
DISCS WILL ONLY BE AVAILABLE FOR PICK-UP ON SITE AT MARILYN BELL PARK DGC ON WEDNESDAY, MAY 29th, 2024.
All proceeds will go towards Wednesday MBP Glow League CTP prizing for the season.
ELIGIBILITY:
All are welcome to come out to play but for your score to count, to be eligible for CTP prizing and for the Prodigy x NHL Ace Run Challenge, you must have registered for the Prodigy x NHL Challenge and use the provided Prodigy discs.
SCORING:
Shotgun start & players will complete 2 x 9H rounds (18 holes total) with all scoring logged on uDisc. All players must use tape/markers provided to mark their discs – otherwise how will we know which disc belongs to which player?
TIE-BREAK:
In the event of a tie, there will be a closest to the pin throw-off between all tied players using Hole #1.
PRIZES:
Prizes will be available for lowest score and at least one (1) CTP hole.
PRODIGY X NHL ACE RUN CHALLENGE
After 2 x 9H play is completed, all participants will take turns throwing all three (3) of their Prodigy discs at a specially designed Ace Run Challenge Prodigy Basket (only available on May 29th). If one person makes an ace, they will receive a prize. If more than one person makes an ace, there will be a CTP re-throw. If no one makes an ace, everyone will be able to throw one disc as part of a CTP challenge.
MISCELLANEOUS
Baskets will be lit and glow tape will be provided if the event ends in darkness.
DISC GOLFER’S CODE
1 - PLAY SMART – Never throw into a blind area or when players, spectators, pedestrians, or other facility users are within range. Use a spotter.
2 - RESPECT THE COURSE – Observe all posted rules. No littering, graffiti, or abuse of equipment or flora.
3 - REPRESENT THE SPORT – Be positive and responsible. Teach others.
