Preliminary Qualifier US Amateur Match Play
About this tournament
Due to the overwhelming response, it would not be fair to just allow the first 16 people that register to play in the Match Play event.
On February 25th (following the doubles round), be prepared to earn your spot into the "Sweet 16"!
One round on the Gator Links Course at PSC Milton, 18 holes Pro (all concrete pads will be used, so if it doesn't have a Pro concrete pad then it's from the Am pad).
The top 16 players will make there way into the US Amateur Match Play Championships (USAMPC) local qualifier which is tentatively scheduled for 4/7-4/8.
Only ties for the 16th spot will be broken with a sudden death playoff.
The cost will be $10 for the Prelim Qualification. If you are in the top 16, then you will be required to pay the remaining cost for the USAMPC. The cost of the the USAMPC Player Pack is $45, so you would need to have the additional $35 and pay the day of to secure your spot.
If you win the local qualifier, you must be willing to travel to the Regional Qualifier (date and location TBD by the PDGA State Coordinator), so just keep that in mind.
Player Eligibilty:
Current PDGA member guidelines – Disc golfers rated 969 or below as of January 1, 2018. New members who do not have a current PDGA rating are eligible to compete.
Non-current PDGA members – Disc golfers who have never been rated 970 or above.
Non-PDGA members – Disc golfers who are not current PDGA members or are so new to the PDGA that they do not have a rating are eligible to play in the event. Final determinations of who is not eligible will be the responsibility of the bracket hosts.
