About this tournament

BC3 Disc Golf presents the 1st BC3 Lost Disc! Fling on Saturday, September 5th 2020 at the gorgeous Brown County Country Club outside Nashville, IN. The Lost Disc! Fing tournament is designed for beginners, new players, families, and experienced players (with little tournament experience). The tournament also finds a good home for many lost discs.

This easy-going, fun, and affordable tournament helps introduce people to disc golf and tournament competition. As part of this tournament you will get a good quality used disc, learn to play disc golf, play 2 rounds of 9 holes at BC3 (voted the best course in Indiana by users!), pick your starting time (players love this format), and have a chance to win golf related prizes throughout the day. The cost is only $10/person, and kids under 18 are free! This is a great value for beginners, families, and experienced players who haven’t been in tournaments before. The total time to play in this event is 2-3 hours.

Players choose a division most appropriate for their level of play. Experienced players will select from Advanced, Intermediate, and Recreational divisions based on their experience level and/or gender. Beginners pick a Novice division, and kids' divisions are age based. Please note that all kids 13 and under must be accompanied by a parent or responsible adult at all times during the tournament.

This non-sanctioned event has players using the tees most appropriate for their skill level based on the division. So the Advanced and Intermediate divisions will play from the long Blue tees. Intermediate Women, and Recreational divisions, and Junior <18 will play from the easier Red tees. All other divisions will play from the easiest green tees.

For new players, Brown County Disc Golf is teaming up with BC3 to give free beginner lessons covering basic shots, drives, putts, and rules. This lasts approximately 30 minutes and runs hourly from 10am to 4pm. Just select a time for your free lessons when you register.

Tournaments often give Player’s Pack items as a gift and the Lost! Disc Fling is no exception. Players get a disc to keep from our inventory of Lost! Ddscs when they check-in. Our Lost & Found is overwhelmed with discs that owners don’t want anymore. We actively try to get every disc back to its owner, but sadly, it doesn’t always happen. Some of these Lost! discs aren’t marked so we can’t find the owner, some of them were donated to a good cause by the owners, and some owners didn’t get back to us.

Players bring their own discs to play in the tournament, or rent discs from BC3 to use during the tournament ($5 for a 3-disc beginners set). You can rent discs at the time of registration. You may also use your Players Pack disc in the tournament. In any case, it is advised to start with at least 3 discs because sometimes a disc gets lost in a pond.

Tee times are typically limited to 4 players. If your group has more than 4 players in it, please register them in groups of 4 in successive tee times and then contact the TD (Steve Shively) for next steps. Depending on the situation, we may allow a larger group to play, or break you into smaller groups. This is done to make sure every group plays in a reasonable amount of time and doesn't slow down other players behind them.

Registering for the tournament and free lessons is simple. Gather the names of your players, and pick a starting tee time. Then go to dgscene.com/Lost_Disc_2020 and fill out the form for each player, and then purchase your registration (you will be taken to PayPal to pay the fees). Or, you can come by BC3 on Saturday and register at the event (if space is available).

Division winners will receive special recognition, and full results will be posted to our website, FaceBook page, and discgolfscene tournament page. Prizes will be given out during the tournament for many items like good sportsmanship, shortest putter, closest to the pin, etc.

The Player’s Notes for this tournament will be sent to everyone the day before the event. The Player Notes document contains all the details needed to check-in, play, record scores, and report results to the Tournament Director.

You can ask questions on the Comments page at the registration website so that everyone can benefit from your question/answer. Also, you can contact the TD (Steve Shively) directly at 812-341-9737.

Our clubhouse has restrooms for your use, and we observe various relevant COVID-19 precautions. BC3 always offers limited snacks and beverages for sale on site, but we do not provide meals or drink service. The cute town of Nashville is just a few minutes away and offers many food service choices. And of course, we’ll have our Pro Shop open for you to browse throughout the day.

Refund policy

BC3 Disc Golf is responsible for all refunds/cancellations. We will refund full registration fee until 1 week prior to the tournament. After that, only 50% of registration fees ill be refunded in case of cancellation.
