GRDoD Ice Bowl 2017
About this tournament
This is the annual Ice Bowl event hosted by the Grand Rapids Dogs of Disc with proceeds going to Feeding America of West Michigan. The main goal of this tournament is to help end hunger.
The goal this year is to meet and beat last year's donation that raised approximately 2,069 meals. Our goal is to raise over $400 and 80lbs of food. ... We raised $662 and tentatively 132.5lbs of food. Thank you Disc Baron for donating the DD Sniper for raffle ($114 additional to the $460plus $88 from Ace Pool). Thank you to the players who donated extra cash. You all ROCK! Together, we raised 2700 MEALS.
There will be 2 rounds of 18 on Brewer South, and a Chili cook-off during the lunch break between the rounds. GRDoD has the electric turned on at the pavilion for this event so no generators should be needed. RM will provide a couple/few surge protectors and power cord extensions. GRDoD will also provide bowls and spoons. If it is appearing that the event will be nearing dark sooner than completing the second round, the round might be altered similarly to 2015.
All participants will shoot from the Short Tee Pad location for holes 6 & 16.
Ribbons on discs are optional.
Disc Baron is providing payouts with plastic on site and vouchers for those that choose to go that route. Disc Baron retail store will be closed from 1/16 to 1/25. Online will still be available.
