Forward Strides Therapeutic Horsemanship is a charity organization and rehabilitation center for both horses and humans, nestled in the beautiful valley of Templeton, MA.
They offer a safe haven for horses and other barn animals, as well as for humans with behavioral and mental issues.
They offer Horse and farming programs for adult, child and family.
Behavioral modification curriculum for child, teen and adult using horses and farming as teachers.
Recreational/Therapeutic horse back riding for physical and emotional disabilities
Veterans learning to assimilate non- combat life
Learn sustainable farming,solar and wind power
Local clean food production.
Farmers market
community access for grow/ pick your own
Job readiness for teens and adults
Horse handling safety and ground work for all age groups
Barn/ farm husbandry
Self esteem improvement through control of self and horse and many other amazing opportunities for anyone in need of their services.
This tournament is a fundraiser to help this organization become a non-profit, as well as give them the funds to build a new corral for their day camp.
There have been some changes to the event, as the state of Massachusetts has been unwilling to cooperate with us on this event. We will NOT be having it at the actual farm the organization is based out of. We will be moving it to a privately owned farm in Athol, MA. It is a fairly smaller venue, but it was the best possible solution to our problems.
There will be a small but fun 18 hole temporary course laid out on 25 acres of farm land. This is a fun "ace race" for experienced players, and a fun beginners course for newcomers!
All of the money earned at this event will go directly to Forward Strides.
This is a family friendly event! Crafts, raffle baskets, food, games, and prizes will be available during the event! Please invite your family and friends to join us in the fun!
