About this tournament

The First Flight of 2018 is in the books and it was quite an interesting day. We expected bad weather and it ended up being exceptionally nice. That's Texas hill country for you. Flat Creek Estate Disc Golf Course hosted 88 players and a number of guests to some great disc golf and a pleasant lunch with wine tasting at the awards.

Congrats to Chris Sprague for getting his 98th career MPO win – all the way from Illinois. An FPO division never formed for the Winter Flight although we hope one does for the Spring Flight - especially with the Women's Global coming to Flat Creek in May. Speaking of women, Shannon Prendergast won the MA3 Division topping 17 male competitors by 3 throws. Way to go Shannon! And we had an ace, the first ever recorded in PDGA competition at Flat Creek, by Colin Knight who went on to win MA1 by 2 throws. Looks like that silent blind ace on Hole 2 Blue was the difference.

Since the Spring Flight is the day before Easter we expect some of you will be with family that weekend. If you are playing and bringing guests they will get a complimentary winery tour when we all start our second round. So bring mom, dad, uncles, aunts, grandmas, gramps, cousins, nephews, nieces, in laws...you get the picture. Select the Guest Lunch option when registering so we can plan for how many folks will be there.

Your entry includes a filling and tasty lunch on-site in the Pavilion Grande from the Flat Creek Estate award winning Bistro. Menu TBA.

The Four Flights at Flat Creek is a four event series with one event each season – winter, spring, summer, autumn. Each entry fee includes a series fee of $2. Each division with participants in any of the four flights will have a Series Champion declared at the end of the Autumn Flight. A player who has the best cumulative score relative to the most rounds played wins the series for their division. In other words, it is not necessary to play all four flights to win the series championship but any player who plays in all four flights automatically finishes higher than those who do not in that division. There will be series awards for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in any division with over 100 total entries over the course of the Series; divisions with 50-99 entries will have awards for 1st and 2nd place; divisions with <50 entries will have an award for 1st place only. Pros will be awarded by cash payout, Ams and Recs will be awarded in merchandise.
