Is there any possibility that check in could be extended past 5pm Monday, or another way to check in? Flights land at 1:30 in phx, with bag and car it will be really tough to make 5pm check in.

They have been real good about it in the last.

Jeff Jacquart   April 12, 2023 at 1:39pm

Please keep your eyes on the posted Draft Course Schedule, which lists DRAFT check-in dates and times. We are assessing if this can be/should be slightly amended.

Sorry to add a comment that doesn't address much but Thanks Andrew Sweeton for timely answers. We may not always like what your answers but at least you are replying.

You bet!

Big Dawg is the Man! Thanks

Ron Tiley    March 30, 2023 at 10:00pm

Just curious about how 1 person can be registered for 2 different divisions at the same time. They are taking up an entry that could go to someone else.

Andrew Sweeton   March 30, 2023 at 10:20pm

They were invited for both, as soon as they decide which they will play, we will refund the other and the spot can be taken. If already filled at that time it will go to the first person on the waitlist.

Jacquelyn Rieser   March 31, 2023 at 4:16am

That's nuts you can sign up twice

Wesley Steer    March 30, 2023 at 5:29pm

Is the player pack shirt a dry fit material or a cotton tee?

Bill Block   March 30, 2023 at 6:05pm

Likely dri-fit; we're still working with vendors.

Andrew Montgomery    March 30, 2023 at 3:32pm

Dumb question, I'm just a regular invitee...if I do a Hole Sponsorship can I register now instead of waiting until April 12th? Thank you.

Patrick Graziani   March 30, 2023 at 3:33pm

No you cannot. Sorry Andrew.

Andrew Montgomery   March 30, 2023 at 3:51pm

Thanks Patrick!

My actual points for last year were 1165, so by the standards I am seeing I should have gotten an invite for both ma55 (500 points) and MA50 (500 points).

Andrew Sweeton   March 30, 2023 at 10:18pm

Read the invite criteria doc for the difference between a Primary invite and a Secondary invite. ALL of your Amateur points only counted towards your Primary Worlds Division of MA55. To also have received a secondary invite for MA50 you needed 500 points earned while actually playing in MA50, but you only had 262.5 points playing in MA50.

Loren Barnhurst   March 31, 2023 at 1:30am

Thanks for the educational clarification Andrew!

If I intend to have a caddie, do I need to purchase a spectator pass for them?

You do not need to purchase a spectator pass for when they are actively caddying. If you intend to spectate at Little America for rounds you are not playing your caddie will need a spectator pass.

Andrew Montgomery   March 30, 2023 at 3:51pm

Thanks Patrick!

Jaime Perry   March 30, 2023 at 7:09pm

Those matrimonial caddies can be pricey ... I can't pay my wife enough to carry my bag.

Riley Turner    March 30, 2023 at 5:25am

Wow. Only 19 spots for MA60. And 63 spots for MA50. That's unfair..Please Adjust your division numbers.

Riley - First, space is limited by the available courses and second, that space then needs to be allocated as best we can not only roughly according to membership and invitation numbers, but with the caveat that we still need to provide space for all divisions to be included. The reality is that there are a lot more MA50 players than MA60 players.

Loren Barnhurst   March 30, 2023 at 4:02pm

There are 1040 invited MA50 players to fit 72 slots, and only 366 MA60 players to fit 52 slots. If you want to argue 'fair', it sounds like MA60 players have a lot better chance of getting in.

Riley Turner   March 30, 2023 at 5:41pm

Good point Big Dawg and Loren. In reality we can make this event a lot bigger than it is!!

Lee Bremer    March 29, 2023 at 12:07pm

So the host city will not have an airport available during the week of the tourney? Is this correct?

We don't expect many players to actually fly into Flagstaff. PHX is the best choice and is a large, international airport.

John Birkrem   March 29, 2023 at 4:39pm

I was planning to fly into Flagstaff, until I saw the price difference, better off the 2.5 hour drive than the cost difference.

Ronnie Roots Denig   April 3, 2023 at 12:52am

Going to be a lot of traveling to get there this year.

Jim McAlpine    March 24, 2023 at 12:00am

Is the Amateur Master Worlds by invitation only?

Chris Dierkens   March 24, 2023 at 12:20am

Kind of. It’s an earned points based invitational with 10% threshold invite catch-all.

Todd Lion   March 24, 2023 at 1:13pm

Chris is correct. Players earned invitations by their performance in 2022, and those invited players get first dibs on registration. We eventually open registration to the public on April 26.

Bill Kirk    March 23, 2023 at 5:40pm

In the prelim schedule, the courses are all abbreviations. Can you help me with LAL and LACC? I think I got the rest

Download or click on the pdf file on the website and it will show you a legend in the lower right-hand corner.

Mike Dammes   April 6, 2023 at 2:48pm

I liked the older Worlds where you got to play more than two courses over the duration of the tournament.

Elevations in Flagstaff are 7,000 feet (2,134 m) at the six courses in town, but range from 9,000 feet (2,744 m) up to 10,500 feet (3,200 m) at the highest points of Snowbowl. Arizona's dry climate may affect you differently than your home environment. We encourage you to familiarize yourself with the dangers of elevation and the effects on the human body. Below are some tips and links we have found to be helpful.
