NEW for the Big Bear Classic this year:
FOOD:
We will not be providing food at the event this year. The Canmore Nordic Centre Provincial Park has an in-house caterer, Cornerstone Catering, which is the sole provider of any food at the Park.
This means that we can no longer feed the players using the volunteer grill. Unfortunately, Cornerstone's pricing is a little higher than we are willing to pass on to the players.
The tournament schedule will be similar to last year, using two pools with four seperate shotgun starts on Saturday, and two on Sunday. This schedule allows players ample time to arrange their own lunches at the Nordic Centre Day Lodge, in the town of Canmore, or on site, using one of the Club Rooms.
CLUB ROOMS:
We are excited to offer Club Rooms for rent during the Big Bear this year. These are the Wax Rooms that have previously been used for Disc Central. This will allow 6-10 players to store their discs, bags, carts, dry clothes, food and cooler during the entire weekend.
These rooms are private and therefore, you can have a beer after your round, but there is no smoking, no grilling, and no overnight stays in the rooms. The space outside the rooms is available for small grills, small sun shelters, and smoking, but this is not a licensed area, so there is no alcohol permitted outside of the rooms. Any violations will result in the group's expulsion from the room, and possibly the tournament.
The price for a Club Room is $100 for the weekend, Friday evening until Sunday afternoon.
