If we are unable to get to the Granada by 5pm on Tuesday the 10th how should we check in and get players pack? Thanks!

Dynamic Discs   July 10, 2018 at 12:58pm

Will you be at the player meeting at 7PM?

Patrick Van Hoecke   July 10, 2018 at 6:29pm

yes, should be.

Gavin Simpson    July 7, 2018 at 3:45pm

Is it too late to sign up for the field events on 7/10??

Andrew Sweeton   July 7, 2018 at 4:15pm

yes, sorry, registration closed Monday morning.

Gavin Simpson   July 7, 2018 at 4:40pm

No worries, we'll be practicing at a Jones course then I suppose. Those will be open for practice correct?

Dynamic Discs   July 7, 2018 at 6:20pm

They wil!

Hans Merritt    July 6, 2018 at 4:08pm

My son Cyrus #80424 unfortunately must withdraw from the tournament. He is signed up in 18 and under, also for several field events. I sent an email to Doug last week but never received any reply. Is it too late to receive a refund? I’m very sorry we will not be coming.

Andrew Sweeton   July 6, 2018 at 4:27pm

OK, sorry to hear it. I'll take care of the refund. Thanks.

Dynamic Discs   July 7, 2018 at 6:21pm

Hans - what email address did you use?

Erich Partee    July 3, 2018 at 10:07pm

What is the app that is going to be used. The one for gbo was awesome

Are the Final nine numbers going to remain the same since none of the age groups filled up?

Andrew Sweeton   July 3, 2018 at 4:12pm

An updated schedule with the registration numbers will be up later today, but the Final 9 numbers will remain the same.

Roy Lyons   July 3, 2018 at 6:12pm

Thanks again, see you next week!

Roy Lyons    July 3, 2018 at 2:29am

Since there isn't a FJ Doubles Division, please withdraw Lydia Lyons from the doubles competition.

Andrew Sweeton   July 3, 2018 at 1:23pm

OK, will do!

Roy Lyons   July 3, 2018 at 3:39pm

Thank you! Sorry it didn’t work out.

Andrew Sweeton   July 3, 2018 at 4:13pm

no worries

Daniel Eich    July 3, 2018 at 12:06am

Andrew Sweeton   July 3, 2018 at 1:22pm

OK, I'll take care of it!

Andrew Sweeton    June 24, 2018 at 7:45pm

Another note: we have single teams in FJ18, FJ12, and MJ08. If we don't get additional teams in those divisions they will need to move divisions, anyone else interested in playing doubles? Please register prior to this Friday 6/29 and be sure that both you and your partner register. Thanks.

"Split High/Low" - what does that mean?

Roy Lyons   June 26, 2018 at 12:33pm

One from FJ18 and one from FJ12

Andrew Sweeton   June 26, 2018 at 12:51pm

Oh, you mean split the teams up into two new FJ18 teams. In theory they could do that if they wished, but more likely they will move into the Mixed division.

Andrew Sweeton    June 24, 2018 at 7:41pm

All - Carli Beith #85978 is looking for an FJ18 doubles partner as her original partner can't make it. Anyone interested? If so, please use the "Modify Registration" link in your registration confirmation email from Disc Golf Scene to add Divisional Doubles and make the $10 payment. Thanks.

Lydia Lyons is willing to play with her.

Andrew Sweeton   June 26, 2018 at 2:25pm

OK great, but if we don't get another team, they will still need to move to MJ18.

Roy Lyons   June 26, 2018 at 6:38pm

Something else will have to work out.

James McLaughlin    June 22, 2018 at 3:00pm

Hello,
We are looking to make this a FULL family trip and register our youngest (who is 12 now, but will turn 13 in November) for the event.
I coach baseball and have run a few tournaments and know the difference between a 12 year old athlete and a 15 year old athlete -- What is the average age of the 50+ golfers in that division right now?
For the exp. it would be a great time I am sure -- but he is a bit competitive and to be outclassed by an athlete who is 3 years older might take a toll on him after 5 rounds.
Suggestions?

“8 year olds” sorry right now if your 6 and turn 7 in December the PDGA makes you play against 8 year olds

ELIZABETH NUNN-GAGE   June 29, 2018 at 2:44pm

Exactly, my 4 year old turns 5 in October, she will only be able to play in FJ06 this year and next, then she will be 6 years old and playing in FJ08 for 3/4 of a year, and someone with a December birthday has it even harder. I will write the PDGA if that would help at all. I understand the rule f ... more

Kaidin Bell   June 30, 2018 at 9:12am

Because we have 9- 15 year olds your 12 year old just became 13.7 years old but that’s ok don’t worrie it soooooooo fair because the 9-15 year olds are also 13.7 years old now.WAKE UP PDGA WE ARE TALKING ABOUT CHILDREN EVERY AGE NEEDS A CHAMPION. What’s wrong with letting 14-13 ye ... more

that uses dgscene.com, you would have received an email confirmation. In that confirmation, there *may* be a link where you can update the registration yourself.

Andrew Sweeton   June 21, 2018 at 1:17pm

Rick - PDGA age goes by year of birth, not date of birth. Since Jayme turns 13 in 2018 he is no longer eligible to play in MJ12 for all of 2018 so he is registered correctly in MJ15. Thanks.

Rick Padilla   June 22, 2018 at 12:38am

Ok thanks for clearing that up for me,I told my son he's just going to have to step up his game and play his best

Jason Casper    June 15, 2018 at 4:45pm

Will we be receiving a separate Caddy Book when we get there or will the course maps that we got act as our Caddy Book?

Andrew Sweeton   June 15, 2018 at 5:52pm

Separate Caddybook and a phone app will be provided.

Harper Thompson    June 15, 2018 at 1:57pm

Is the “final singles round” a round in which you must qualify to play? It is labeled as a “semifinal” round on the event schedule.

Andrew Sweeton   June 15, 2018 at 2:32pm

Ah, that is a typo, great catch! The Saturday round is the final preliminary round of singles for everyone, the only cut is for the Saturday afternoon Finals.

Andrew Sweeton   June 15, 2018 at 2:42pm

Event Schedule is now corrected, thanks for the heads up Harper!

Roy Lyons    June 12, 2018 at 1:49am

When is the cutoff for doubles and field event sign ups?

Andrew Sweeton   June 12, 2018 at 2:03am

When registration closes on June 29th

Carlos Molina    June 11, 2018 at 1:29pm

I contacted Doug Bjerkaas yesterday asking to withdraw Junior 15 Zachary Overholt PDGA #89627 but we corrected our travel issues and I was hoping to disregard voicemail I left him asking to withdraw. Could Zachary please remain registered? Thank you, Carlos Molina.

Any other Junior Girls going to play doubles on Sunday? Right now, it looks like there isn't even one full team. Two signed up with out partners.

Evan Jones    May 8, 2018 at 4:34pm

What day is doubles on?

Andrew Sweeton   May 8, 2018 at 6:21pm

The schedule was in the Invite Packet, see: https://www.pdga.com/files/2018_junior_worlds_course_schedule_v2.7.pdf

Kaidin Bell    May 6, 2018 at 1:43am

If Kaidin bell and Landon Brooks who are playing mj08 signed up to play doubles what age group would they play in. What are the age brackets for doubles thanks

Andrew Sweeton   June 6, 2018 at 1:54pm

Correct, that is why we now have that rule. Awarding a World Championship to someone who had no competition does't make any sense. We did allow it for the first year of competition in the two new youngest age groups of 8 and 6, but no longer.

Roy Lyons   June 12, 2018 at 1:49am

So, does that mean the two singles in the 6 and under have to play up or compete against each other?

Andrew Sweeton   June 12, 2018 at 5:12pm

Right, we are hoping some more kids register for those divisions.

Roy Lyons    May 4, 2018 at 5:11am

Will my daughter be able to sign up for field events or doubles on the day of the event?

Roy - there is a link in your confirmation email that says "Modify Registration for . . ."

Evan Jones   June 28, 2018 at 1:03am

I am trying to add my son to the field events and I don't see that link.

Evan Jones   June 28, 2018 at 1:15am

Never mind I figured it out

Giancarlo Anselmo    May 1, 2018 at 1:43pm

According to the tentative schedule, the 12U division is only down to play 4 rounds? is this an oversight or will they only play 4 rounds?

Roy Lyons   May 4, 2018 at 4:48am

Thanks, I see that in the fine print now. F/MJ15 & F/MJ18 play six rounds and the younger groups play four.

Andrew Sweeton   May 5, 2018 at 1:40pm

I have passed this concern along to the TD and PDGA Course Reviewer for their consideration.

Andrew Sweeton   May 15, 2018 at 2:02pm

FJ12 and MJ12 are now playing 5 rounds. See: https://www.pdga.com/2018juniorworlds/schedule/course
