I'm taking this to private messages Keith. It has no place here.

My issue is not with TAGDA running events in Mi. I have only heard good things about them. My issue is with the name of the event only.
I would love to come and check out a TAGDA event. Chris you going to come and get me? I cant drive !
"Then again - you're the one that was incensed that I'd run a B Tier within 5 hours (5 HOURS!) of an MDGO featured event last year... If its TADGA, its obviously trash. You constantly complain about us, despite having NEVER attended a SINGLE even ...

The major problem is the name of the event. The Michigan Doubles Championship was held the Monday of Memorial Day Weekend as it has been for years. It is more akin to me running the Motor City Open 2 weeks after MCCG ran theirs and pretty much calling it the same thing.
The organizers of this event knew when the true Michigan State Doubles Championship was going to be held as well as the name of the event. For some flak to come about should not have been unforseen...

I think that Tagda does a great job running tournaments and leagues. If there are days available to host tournaments in our area and they step in and fill the gaps good for them. I think it is silly to suggest a boycott. You guys know how much work goes into hosting tournaments. I will try to support any club that host events in our area regardless of where they are from.

Get off your high horse. TADGA represents and covers 3 courses. TWO of which are in Michigan. It could just as easily be Temperance Area Disc Golf Association. Most of our most active golfers are in Michigan. Two of our three tournament directors live in Michigan. Our best players live in (guess what state) Michigan.
Then again - you're the one that was incensed that I'd run a B Tier within 5 hours (5 HOURS!) of an MDGO featured event last year... If its TADGA, its obviously trash. Yo ...

How soon will you be working on the Ohio State Disc Golf Championship
Presented By:The Michigan Disc Golf Org? I love MDGO events! In another state, you guys must really be working overtime.
Brandon Bueter September 14, 2011 at 5:31am
They are a good group of guys and one of them is from Michigan they could change the name as that has already taken place but they run great tournys great payouts for ams and their are hardly any tournys in the southeast area as well as tournys in the winter and they provide those if people dont like them then they dont have to go but I enjoy there tournys and will support anybody that is supporting the sport
jeff brelin September 14, 2011 at 5:15am
I would suggest that we all just boycott their event... or heck all of their events they try to hold in MI since they don't have any decent courses in the Toledo area. They can have Vienna and Willow since they are misquito infested bug cess pools all summer long anyways, Do we really need another club running events at Lake Shore and Hudson Mills besides A3?
TJ Wilson September 14, 2011 at 3:53am
I'd have to agree, Ohio clubs running a michigan championship seems a bit odd to me. If were going to take over another states championships, i vote Florida or Texas. The hell with shit hole Ohio...

i wouldnt advise running events in ohio until theres a cure for aids.
Mark Stephens September 12, 2011 at 4:55pm
Just for the record, my A tier was originally proposed to be The Michigan Amateur Championships (I liked MAC for short)but the MDGO asked me to change the name to avoid any confusion. I then changed to Michigan Amateur Open.
Craig Clingan September 12, 2011 at 2:56pm
Has anyone from MDGO asked someone from TAGDA to change the name? I don't remember any qualifying events leading up to this "championship". Doesn't make much sense to me.
Keith Aten September 12, 2011 at 8:06am
So an OHIO club is running an event called the " MICHIGAN Amateur doubles CHAMPIONSHIP. Did we not just have the Michigan State Doubles Championship At Flip City last weekend?
So MDGO crew Jeff S, Todd, Mark , Jeff B John, everyone else that helps and oh don't forget Gipe You want to run the Ohio State Championship? I don't see one of those listed on scene. Hell it might be fun.
I bet the folks from all over Ohio would love that.

Unfortunately I won't be there this year to help on the course. Let's hope some of the guys attending will man up and help out. Wish I could. I returned a lot of discs from the lake on 10 and I know the course has had less than sufficient maintenance this year. Have fun!

Help needed this weekend at Sleepy Hollow.
Please come help spot for the ladies of disc golf. The grass on the sided of the fairways is tall enough to lose some of the ladies let alone a disc. Please come and support our ladies.
I know Erin will hook you up for helping.
Thanks

A 46-year-old township woman said she was harassed by an unknown 40-year-old village woman while at a local drug store, around 5:20 p.m., Friday, March 19. According to the report, the village woman approached the township woman and began spewing out her life story and personal problems when she suddenly stopped talking, then blurted out "this is none of your business," and began making threatening statements to the township woman.
