Playing Dubs on Thursday

We will be playing a round of Random Dubs this Thursday even though the league season is over. No points this week, just cash payouts and fun. Same $7 entry fee. There will be a day of Ace pot that will go out in a CTP throw-off if there is no Ace. See you out there. And don't forget about the big Finale on August 24th. 10am tee time. We will be playing a 21 hole layout for that day. Trophies, raffle, and $1000 of payouts to be had. See you out there.

Week #11 4 Teams at -14. Damn Skippy!

32 brave souls found their way out to Champoeg to participate in the second to last day of the league season. There was a light drizzle at times and the ground was a little wet. But the players didn't notice or didn't care because the only thing raining down last night was the birdies. 4 teams carded -14 on an 18 hole layout. And with 4 places in the money it was only a throw off at the end that put the teams in order and decided the cash.

After the throw off it was team Branden Garland and Eric Wilson with the fat stack for the night. 2nd place was captured by team Chase (now in 1st place) Estep and Conner Williams. 3rd was Bryan Hoerr and Erik Hayworth. And rounding out the crew of -14 teams was Joe Hartley and Ben Cole. It was quite a performance this evening gents. Thanks for lighting it up!

Next week is the final Thursday of the league season for points. I will be out there the following week on 8/22 for a round of random dubs but it will not count for the league and the ace pot from league will not be in play. There will be a day of Ace Pot that will be awarded in a CTP throw if there is no Ace.

Mark your calendars because the date is fast approaching. Saturday, August 24th, is the big Finale. There will be over $900 of cash to be played for by the top 16 players in the points, a raffle for all players, a 'Best of The Rest' bracket if you are not playing for the cash, and custom made trophies for the top 20 people in the points. It will be a great day so head out to the Poo. Tee-off will be 10am so show up early.

Week #9. Team Chase and Conner bring the heat.

Week #9 was a hot one out there. But was the heat due to the weather or due to the epic scoring extravaganza that was brought on by some of the finest disc golfers in the land? I would say it was a little of both. And just as the heat of the sun was making the masses sweat, the prowess at which these golfers were playing made the competition sweat the small stuff and admire the good stuff. And there was lots of good stuff to see.

Week #9 was a hot one out there. But was the heat due to the weather or due to the epic scoring extravaganza that was brought on by some of the finest disc golfers in the land? I would say it was a little of both. And just as the heat of the sun was making the masses sweat, the prowess at which these golfers were playing made the competition sweat the small stuff and admire the good stuff. And there was lots of good stuff to see.

The 19 hole layout that we played included an extended hole 6 which played as a par 5. But this layout was laid to rest with team Chase Estep and Conner Williams. They played each hole to near perfection and a clutch putt on 18 by Chase saw their score at -16. They only carded 3 pars on the day. Nice shooting. 2nd place (which was on the same card as the winners) was team Luke Jenks and Buck 'Yeah!' Rich with a commendable -14. Team Brad Hummel and Ed Kane also carded a -14 but lost in a throw-off and walked off in 3rd place.

The highlight of the night was thrown by Erik Hayworth. On his last hole of the night, on the last drive on the card, Erik crashed chains and settled in the basket for a hole-in-one on hole 5. He snagged up $127 for his efforts and will live in infamy. At least until the next ace is hit.

Only 3 weeks left to play and the shuffle game has started on the leaderboard. With only 8 weeks counting towards the final tally it is now or never time. The Finale will be August 24th and you don't want to miss out. Cash, throphies, raffle, and one more chance to enjoy a round with this fine group of huckers. So don't talk about it, be about and see you at the Poo next Thursday and show us that you are 'The Boss of the Toss'.

They say, "Money can't buy you happiness"..........but it can buy you some new discs. Bet they feel pretty stupid now.

Week #8. Matt and Tim destroy the rest.

Our make-up league day brought out 30 plastic tossing fanatics to the best course in the area. We also saw more than 30 casual players enjoying this excellent course which is a good sign for our growing sport. Keep building this game up and get out to a course near you.

Our make-up league day brought out 30 plastic tossing fanatics to the best course in the area. We also saw more than 30 casual players enjoying this excellent course which is a good sign for our growing sport. Keep building this game up and get out to a course near you.

But the team at the top after this fine day of flinging was Matt Hill and Tim Freer. On a 19 hole layout they only saw 2 pars and ended with a spectacular -17! For those that don't know Matt Hill and what he is doing this year let me be the one to tell you. He is the #1 point leader IN THE NATION in Next Gen points. Good luck in Texas Matt! 2nd place today was team Austin Lester and Seth Mcnerlin with 3rd placing landing with team Roger Vega and Matthew Mansfield. Thanks for playing everyone.

There are only 4 weeks left to get your place in the finale. August 24th is creeping up fast and you don't want to be below the red line. But if you are in the top 20 you still get a trophy and EVERYONE is invited to play in the finale. There is a 'Best of the Rest' bracket with cash and a trophy. And don't forget about the raffle. So get out there a play.

Week #7. Luke Jenks Aces Hole 11!

That's a wrap on Week 7 now. And with a 40 count for the night there was bound to be some action. This night saw sick air shots, rumbling rollers, over-the-top jump putts, and perfectly placed lay-ups that even Micheal Jordan would be proud of. But the big kahuna on this showcase of plastic prowess would be Luke Jenks. Luke aced hole 11 with a 'nothing but chains' air shot that left the crowd speechless. Heck yeah Luke.

That's a wrap on Week 7 now. And with a 40 count for the night there was bound to be some action. This night saw sick air shots, rumbling rollers, over-the-top jump putts, and perfectly placed lay-ups that even Micheal Jordan would be proud of. But the race was won by team Erik Hayworth and Logan Robertson who had just enough in the tank to snake a one stroke victory. 2nd place saw 'No excuse' Will Beus and Austin Lester while 3rd place was snagged by Ben Cole and Austin Whitesell. Damn Skippy!

There are only 5 weeks of play left in this season so swing out to the 'Poo' and grab them birdies. Don't forget about our make-up league round tomorrow, 7/20, at 10am. It will be another extended layout so be sure to eat your Wheaties and bring some Gatorade cause we are in for a treat.

And as always let's open your schedule up for the big finale on Saturday August 24th. Week 5. Brad Hummel came to play!

Week 5 saw 36 peeps out in the rain and cold to prove they had what it takes to cash in the points and point out the cash. The rain was falling hard but the birdies were falling harder. And just like the dull roar of the thunder warned of the impending storm, the roar of the chains being trashed by plastic warned of good scores to be had.

With a little twist on the norm for the course we played an extended hole 14 that was a par 4 followed by a little upshot type par 3. The new holes did ... more

The new holes did not stop the hot hand of the day as Brad Hummel played from the solo-rolo seat and sealed the victory away with a -13. That is a B-rad score Mr. Hummel. 2nd place was snagged by Conner Williams, (who took 2nd last week as well) with Matt Franke. 3rd was had by team Ben Cole and Brandon Mueller. Nice shooting boys.

We are taking next week due to the big bang extravaganza that is The 4th of July. We will be making up this missed Thursday on Saturday July 20th with a 10am tee time. Mark your calendars now and get out to the Poo. I will be looking forward to your arrival.

Week 4. Only 8 weeks left to play!

Week 4 brought out 38 of the finest disc golfers in the area to prove they have the skills to pay the bills. Or at least the skills to score some birdies. And the birdies were there for the taking! We saw teams at -11, -12, -13 and even a -14!! Not to shabby for a bunch of dudes in the woods tossing their plastic around.

The top dogs on this fine evening of flight were Chase Estep and Cole Redalen who snaked into 1st place with a score of -14. 2nd place saw Conner Williams and Seth Mcner ... more

We will continue to tee off around 6pm for the next 2 weeks, then we will be forced to start earlier the later into the season we get. Please try and arrive before 5:45pm the next 2 weeks AT THE LATEST!! And this time will shift as we tee off sooner. This is a fair warning to all.

There were 38 super stellar saucer slingers in attendance last night. But the night belonged to Seth Mcnerlin and Brad Hummel. They sailed across the course and climbed to an easy 5 stroke win over the next team. On a 19 hole layout they only missed 1 birdie leaving the rest in awe with an -18!!! Damn Skippy! Next up was Manny Medina and Buck 'Yeah' Rich, (that's me!!) with a solid score of -13. After a throw off team Stephen Phillips and Erik Hayworth snagged 3rd place. Nice shooting.

There are still 9 weeks to grab points and only 8 weeks count towards the finale so everyone still has a chance. The Finale will be held on Aug. 24th which is a Saturday so keep that weekend open. There will be a raffle, cash payouts and trophies. Don't miss out. It will be......wait for it............... Legendary! See you all next Thursday

Week #1 Brenden Motte Aces on Week 1.....Again!

The first week of the new season is now posted up and the points race has begun. 41 heads showed up to throw, and that ain't a bad count. The competition was soaring and the scores show that. And just like last season there was an Ace hit on the first week. And it was the same guy! Brenden Motte sent plastic directly to the chains on hole 1A and snagged $41 with it. Heck yeah man.
