Spent my Veteran's day afternoon at Woodmansee trying to remove the first layer of leaf and debris to start being able to find fairways and trails. Got maybe about half done today, more then I had planned on. Depending on weather will try to return next few days to finish other half. Also hear there is supposed to be a Capital City disc golf work party after doubles this Sunday at Woodmansee. Always things that can or should be done.

On course today for some work. Tee sign 7 finished. All fairways, tee pads, trails and basket areas have had a first take on cleanup, better then it was. Always things that can be done.

Just for information the Mando sign hole 2 at Woodmansee is now back in place after being redone due to vandalism while back. Thanks to Jon Long for his efforts to plane down face to remove damage, rerouted the MANDO and CCDG words. I then did a paint job on letters with outline. Also redrew the picture area showing tee pads, baskets, and mando tree. Sign was finished with some spray lacquer to hopefully give some protection to it. The tee sign replacement for hole 7 is still in progress as ... more

A big thank you to all that made it out to the course work day at Woodmansee course yesterday. The bark dust piles are gone and the course is looking better then ever. Good days work by all, individuals and club members, to get it done. Big shout out to CGDG for helping me put this day together and stepping up to get ready for their tourney coming up this weekend.

February 17th, two weeks from today mark on your calendar for scheduled work party at Woodmansee Park course. Will be started by 10:00 and being hosted by myself and Chain Gang Disc Golf to perform maintenance and cleanup on course for general reasons but also to prepare for CGDG Classic the following weekend. Show your support for disc golf in Salem area and give us some of your time to keep our courses in good and cleaned up shape for all to enjoy. Hopefully this can be the start of good things for all and happen at all courses in area.
Thank you very much

Had me a round at Woodmansee, very enjoyable to play on a good course in cleaned up condition for the winter. Thank goodness for the wood gnomes at the park that are trying to keep it together for the silly humans to throw round plastic things at chains that hang off of poles in the ground. Sorry, got side tracked.
Just throwing it out there that a kept up course is nicer to play then those neglected.
Just my thought for today and have a happy rest of the holidays

Just back in from morning and early afternoon at Woodmansee getting some course cleanup done that it's been needing. Lots of leaves and down pine branches moved out of play area. Looking lot better for now so go enjoy a round there. Always more that can be done, mainly getting bark dust moved to muddy areas on trails and such. Main one first would be trail between 1 and 2 if any body felt like helping out.
Take care all and see you on a course sometime

With some time yesterday and today I've got the heavy layers on leaves taken care of on the tee pads, fairways, and basket areas at Woodmansee course. Makes it nicer to toss a round and not deal with inch of leaves and such in safe landing areas.
Get out and enjoy it, nice to get compliments from out of towners while on course.
Help out where and when you can, better for all that way and you can become a part of it all just by asking me how.
Toss a couple for me and see you all on course sometime,
Steve

Thanks to Chain Gang and our diamond in the rough Steve Moore, another good review on DGscene! Keep up the good work, much love. Woodmansee, a 503 favorite, most under-rated course in the mid valley for all levels of disc golfers:)

Just back in from full day on course at Woodmansee and looks a lot different then this morning now. Besides my usual cleaning leaves and debris from baskets, tee pads, trails and such want to put out a big thanks to those of Chain gang who were able to come by and they got some more barkdust moved for us. Sorry don't remember names on all that were there but thanks and it doesn't mean I don't care, just not good at names all the time, old man's burnt out brain still trying ... more

Just getting back in after 7 hour day at Woodmansee for course cleanup. Got most of the cleanup of leaves, debris, etc in playing areas like I've done in past. Lots of folks there playing but no helpers, oh well. Always still plenty here and at all courses that need to be done. Lets all disc golfers in area pull together and get these things done and finished. Contact me here or however if you don't know how to go about helping, be glad to teach you.
Enjoy the course and hope to see some of you this weekend at events.

Thank you
Steve
