Water Works Park

You can tell recently that somebody has been putting in some sweat equity into this course, it seems as though this place is getting some love. I think this course has seen better days, but it looks like it is having a resurgence. Baskets are in pretty good shape. Park doesn't seem very busy; there was no one there when I played. I think this course has seen better days, but it looks like it is having a resurgence. Baskets are in pretty good shape. Park doesn't seem very busy; there was no one there when I played. Pro, Am, and Beginner tees for every hole! Rocks are spray painted by color, which helps when trying to find the next hole.Stakes at the bottom of each basket directing players to the next tee. All natural dirt tee pads.

Maybe go to the Lakeshore course close by and get a map. Navigation on some holes are hard to find/understand, especially 7 and 8. When you get out of the woods, there are some baskets and there are some pads, but it's not clear which goes where. A little difficult to find the course itself when you get to the park. Hole 1, runs parallel to the river and at the very end of the parking lot.

Overall I found this to be a surprisingly fun, short, mostly technical course. I really enjoyed where there was a tree that had discs that were cracked in two or warped nailed to one fairway tree. Several discs were pinned on the tree symbolizing Rest in Pieces Plastic!! A couple of holes were right next to a wide river which is also fairly clear. The park has got a certain vagabond feel to it. I dare anybody to play a glow round there by yourself, just notify your next of kin where they can find the body. The tee boxes are put together in such a way (rocks spray painted different colors to indicate skill level, with a spray painted numbers on trees to indicate what hole number you are on.) It's kind of cool, shady deals kind of place. Not a destination course, just check it off the list like I did.

I love when designers throw seemingly easy looking shots for a loop with smart use of the natural landscape. Seems a bit soggy, and with tees being somewhat worn dirt I'm guessing it's a muddy spot to play.

you're in the neighborhood of Rolling, Ponds, or coming back from Indy or Hudson, etc. it's worth a stop. Free course with volunteer workers deserve some support. Go to the Works n check it out.

Obvious vagrant campsites - Check

But this course is still a decent pit stop off the highway and a great place to work on short game and open field bombs.
Other Thoughts: For a course long forgotten by the city it is the locals and leagues that are doing the work to get this park back into shape. We are taking the steps to correct the issues with tee pads and signage, course maintenance from the city is mowing when they can so it falls on the Disc Golfers to step up and help maintain the area. Pack in and Pack out your garbage and that will start to help out.
