If you want to give input on different hole layout and design ideas we are hosting a fundraising tournament on November 5th. Even if you cant play come out and share your ideas with me.

I lived in Oxford for years and now reside in Howell but my mother still lives in there, I have always been a huge fan of Seymore lake DGC.I know I may not be a Barham or a ziggy, but I do feel like my opinion has some weight...

When pulling into the park I had thought "this would be prime spots for a few (3-5) holes!" But then saw no baskets....

When pulling into the park I had thought "this would be prime spots for a few (3-5) holes!" But then saw no baskets....

I walked on to the first hole and looked at the "line" to park the first hole and seen it was next to impossible to park it unless you took an overhead throw or a super risky just cut out straight line that,was 2ft wide. And thought...."how is this good golf?" Then seeing the way holes 2 and 3 were laid out in was in awe that the designer would create 2 holes that could so easily be played to the wrong baskets.... then playing the rest of the course was a blur because it was either a ace run or a 190ft hole with no line to the bucket, and the worst ruff ever if you missed the stupidly impossible line..... IMO, a course that was designed by someone who didn't have a good grasp on what "good golf" is... or what a "beginner course" should look like...

I don't want to make anyone butt hurt.... or insult anyone. Just giving my honest opinion....

Posted to FB a few days back but never here for some reason. Did some work on the course a few days ago. Added some next hole arrows in confusion areas, cleared some paths to help with flow between 13-14 & 15-16, cut stumps, and cut a tree to open the pocket on 12. Please continue to give input to help improve this new course.

thank you everyone for your input. after reading some reviews and hearing what people had to say on the course i am making a list of upgrades. these will be things that will be easy to do and help with the flow of the course.

next hole signs will be made to help direct traffic, walking paths will be made in areas where people have to walk back on fairways, bat boxes will be made to help with bugs, a course welcome sign will be made to signify the beginning of the course.

it is true this course was designed and built in about 5 months during my time working with Oxford parks and recs. i was only able to use so much of my time working with the parks on the course. i had set up as many volunteer days as i could to get people out working and giving their input on hole layouts. this course was designed and laid out using what land the parks let me. unfortunately i could not start blasting brand new paths for every hole. this course was designed with the potential of adding 6-9 extra holes in the future and alternate tee pads. please stick with me and continue to give your input as we move forward with this brand new free to play course.

Awesome Course!
Played it today... Sat Sept 3, 2016.
Stay in the fairway, off the fairway is a little thick.
Extremely good course, accuracy is essential.

great course, basically has everything that Seymour doesn't, like tightly wooded holes and more dog-legs+ a sweet hangin basket!

Played here yesterday liked it a lot. Definitely not simple. Only downsides I saw are no porto potty/ restroom, signage, and the uneven tees but that's gonna be something to get used to until they get mats or pads. I see a lot of discs being lost here in the very thick rough off the fairways. Lots of unique shots not repetitive a hanging basket and a nice hole with rock stacks that kinda made me think flip city except was flat. Check this place out on oakwood (dirt portion) east of m24 ther ... more

Directly across from a public hunting area. For those of you that go out there and can't find the course pull in the lot with the oakwood lake park sign looks like just empty lot park in the lot walk to the fence gate with the yellow and black sign on it and go around it first tee is to the left red tee markers. I will be back again and again
