You might be able to get park-grade shovels for cheap at the Recycle Center on Industrial in A.A. They gave me a nice price when I told them I was putting them out at HM a few years ago (I bought four or five). This time of year, they have a big selection.

Oh, and thanks for the idea Nancy, I believe it was that round I played with you and Joe that got me thinking about a "broom fund" happy that it happened so quickly!

We actually have put a lot of thought into shovels out on the course. The consensus is that is doesn't make financial sense to put one on every hole, since they would only be used a few times in the winter by just the die-hards that go out there to play. I think there is a reason no course (that I know of) has done shovels at every hole. If you are going to play in the snow, come prepared with a shovel for your group.

Additionally, the brooms will actually be nice for clearing the teepads of light snow, and the snow tracked on to the pads from boots.

So, anyone noticed the brooms out on the course now? thoughts?

Thanks again to all of the players of Union Strikes 2011, where we collected donations for the brooms to make it possible to have them installed.

Picnic course is in for those who don't know. Holes 13 and 14 are going to stay pulled during construction however. So it's hopefully going to be a good day for disc golf tomorrow.

For those who don't know, the Picnic holes 13, 14, and 15 have been pulled before the controlled prairie burn. Don't know when it all goes back in.
