Dear Hudson Mills discgolfers, we know the metro parks charge us to play but that does not include cleaning tee pads in the winter. Well i googled a solution to your problems for next winter. Its easy to use and will make your rounds more enjoyable.
noun
1. Shovel
a tool with a broad flat blade and typically upturned sides, used for moving coal, earth, snow or other material.
synonyms: spade
I hear you can buy them almost anywhere! Ain't technology great.

Wasn't too bad. Some tees where still frozen or a big puddle. Fairways were kind of icy.
Ryan Martin March 29, 2014 at 5:41am
Anyone play the courses lately?
Same here. It's been a bit rough, but a few guys are going out to clear what's not melted tomorrow I believe. Not sure about the fairways.

Lost a custom glo flx buzzz on hole 12 of the original course. Went in the pond, almost made it out, so near the edge. Reward if found and returned. Also, found a disc on hole 4 of the original. If you can tell me what it is, it's yours
Josh Romine March 12, 2014 at 3:18am
I lost a mini out there yesterday. Wood with bottle caps in it.
Brian Hyzertron Crouch March 12, 2014 at 2:47am
found a wood mini that looks like it was made by someone. If you can tell me what's carved into it to prove its yours i'll get it back to you

How are the pads now? I know i asked this last week but we've had a nice string of warmer days. Should i bring a shovel for them? Either way i'm going cause its finally warming up and the snow isn't 4 feet deep
Off the established trail it can get deep. Even with the warm up I think the tees will still be bad. They have been trampled down for some time now, that snow is hard packed. A couple (short) tees you could see a glimpse of concrete, might be able to scrape those up. Hopefully yesterday and today will help in addition to whatever you can do.
awesome thanks Bo i appreciate the info. I'm going out this afternoon to play so i'll let you know how it is. Even though this stupid winter storm is gonna shit all over the course again
Like Trevor said, the first tee (short) was flawless, got us all excited for a fun round. Then hole 2 was shoveled, but was like a 1/2" thick sheet of glass/ice. From then on it was just trampled crap.

After today's warmer weather i'm thinking about going out to play tomorrow. Did anyone go out today and if so how's the course and pads looking? Is the snow deep still? If it's not to bad i'll bring a thing of salt and a shovel to clean the pads. Let me know thanks
24 is playing out there in the morning I think it's mob golf but it's a blast
Josh Romine March 8, 2014 at 12:30am
How's the course look? Any cement showing out there?
jeff j March 2, 2014 at 2:29am
i know this is a longshot but last summer I lost a greenish orc looked like a union jack in colors kind of a striped thing blue and redish very ugly disc , if anyone has will buy it back or trade for something I think it was hole 17 or 18 thanks
Joe Wander February 25, 2014 at 6:06pm
As of Sunday, there was a total of about two square yards of cement uncovered on the Original course, most tees being reasonably well trampled down but not too many slippery spots. Walking along snowmobile track is easy. Any walking not on the trail is WORK. Deep, crusty snow, not quite solid enough to stand on. Baskets are very short nowadays. No big worries about losing plastic. Don't know what's up with the monster, probably even worse.
g lane February 25, 2014 at 12:56am
dont play monster until spring at the earliest. youre welcome.
because i dont think anyone else has played it since fifteen snows ago. the only other footprints were from dog walkers heading the other way. not only are there no pads theres no paths. yes bad. bad motherfucker.
no. on more than one occassion i almost lost the will to live tho. your concern is noted. thank you.
Brian Hyzertron Crouch February 24, 2014 at 11:03am
Has anyone been out to the courses in the past couple days since the mini thaw happened? Hows it look? I wanna play but i dont wanna have to worry about losing another disc
They had discussed it from my understanding the tree was badly damaged don't remember if it was an infection or weather but if it did that would be horrible for that hole.
damn ya that tree is was really makes that hole difficult. Sad day for the Monster

Brian Hyzertron Crouch January 14, 2014 at 8:31pm
Anyone trying to play a round today? I'd like to play with someone to help each other spot so i dont loose any discs in this snow. Let me know
jeff j December 28, 2013 at 3:50am
is the course really snowey I live north of there so looking for a place tomorrow
I played there today. It was dangeous. We saw a nasty fall from a fellow golfer.
Hahaha...Jeff I just saw this and let me say I second your statement. If only a few people had thought to grab shovels before they went out to play this winter it would have made clearing the pads SO much easier.
