My Favorite Course in the state. Very important to hit your lines off the tee. You throw good shots and you are rewarded. Some of the best woods Par 4/5 holes I've ever played. I would love to see how a touring Pro would attack it, I wish there were more tournaments here every year. Baskets are in great shape, a few spots that are buggy and muddy but always enjoyable.

I enjoyed the challenge but the poor direction from basket to tee caused me to lose some strokes. There was good direction from basket to next tee. There was a good amount of variation with elevation and wooded shots with open shots but one thing I wish was that not all the wooded shots would be on one section of the course: holes 6 - 16.

Best new course I've played in a long time. Well kept, great signage, and a lot of variation between multiple pads and pins.

Championship level course from the gold tees, lots of variety! Starts with some open holes and finishes with one but some good technical wooded holes, long, short, par 3,4,5s. Would like to come back and shoot the shorts.

Was in Chicago for the 2016 Riot Fest so we played a few local courses. We had played three other courses the day before and needed to get back to the festival, but I'm glad we took the time to drive out to Round Lake for this one. Beautifully maintained, and this one had an obvious signature hole (raised basket). Lots of open field shots, but also quite a few in the woods with elevations that required large flags on the baskets. There was a "stockade" hole with a wooded stockade blockin ...

Great course , I'm not a big fan of the holes 1-3 but from 4 on its awsome use of woods n water , I love holes 7 , 10, 11 and 13 best .

Excellent course. Well maintained. Lots of variety and plenty of options on each hole - risk versus reward. Only three holes are not birdiable for me.

Starts off in open fields and gradually works into thicker forest and wooded area. Good use of elevation change and offers challenges with water hazards. Tee's, baskets and fairways are well maintained and well marked. Only need is a permanent restroom facility. I have family that lives close to this course and I was pretty excited to play on one of the top rated courses. It did not disappoint.

great course from what the old layout was. good mix of shots from wide open to very wooded. good amount of water and ob to make course hard to score well on. would like to see some from of the trash picked up from all the local golfers. hard to keep up with that with all the traffic that comes through the course. Great course to play in the morning or early afternoon. at 5pm the course becomes very packed. hopefully the bugs well start to scare off some of the people.

Amazing course -- The new design by Chuck kennedy is outstanding. Best course in Illinois

Passing through the area and played a quick round. I only gave it a C rating as the course is very open for most of the holes. There are a handful of holes that are interesting but the front is nothing but air. However that is being rectified as the course is being totally redesigned. They were pouring new tees while I was there. Basket locations will likely change as well. If they plant some trees in the front, it could be a very nice course.

I'm glad that there's a course here, but it's just too open and simple to be very interesting. They need to plant more trees if they want to be as good as Lippold, Adler or that Gurnee course.
