Creekside is a great course, and not just because I can walk to it from home! Very well maintained, beautiful park and surrounding scenery. Lots of variety. Play here enough, and you can't help but get better.

One of the best in SLC, very busy and often large groups of locals. 3-5 pin positions per hole and great signage

This course has come a long way from back in the day. Great course to just chill and toss some disc. Been playin it for years and enjoy what it has become. If you are in the area then stop by and play a round. You will not regret it. Good for beginners and has some technical holes. Enjoy the tree canopy and river that runs through it. It will be nice when they open up the back 2 holes again.

Good public park course. Lots of pin locations. The day I played most were in the shorts.

Lush and green and the river is high and fast. Cleanup was just done so it looks really good.

- Great city park setting
- Just look around you: mountains!
- Good mix of shots required
- Nice use of creek - it's not on the early holes, so it sort "sneaks in" to the hazards at various times during the round.
9 and 10 and a really nice pair of short holes that are nonetheless challenging - and they sort require "mirror" shots of one another. It's unfortunate that they cross over one another so they slow the play it it's busy. But if it's not busy, you'll really enjoy this pair of holes. ...

I have played here a lot over the few years I've played, the course itself is interesting and each hole is well marked and has at least 3 basket positions. The course's big problem is that it is constantly packed. To add on to that from 3:00 PM to 4:00 pm There is a steady stream of oblivious kids going thru holes 1-5, ignoring the SIDEWALK that goes from the school to the playground section of creekside. And once the school was put in recently hole 6 was moved and 7 and 8 were flat out removed. ...

This is a very nice course. Fun and challenging, but it is always too crowded.

This course is probably the best course in the salt lake valley, it is challenging and fun. with that said make sure and go very early for this course gets way too crowded

Great course layout and maintenance. Multiple pin locations that change frequently and has a wheel marking which pin placement is current. Good mixture of grass and trees along with terrain obstacles.

Best course in ut, I think...

Course was playing really nice... And with the cloud cover was the perfect temperature to throw...

Fun course with lots of obstacles. Two drawbacks are overcrowding and cramped holes.
+1 votes Adam Dubois › Walter Frederick Morrison DGC › June 27, 2015
It'd be better if the baskets from #11 on had numbers on top of the baskets so it's easier to navigate. I've only played here a few times and every time the last 9 holes make it frustrating. I've found myself playing on a basket that ended up being for #15 even though the map showed that basket for #12. Just add numbers to the top of baskets...not that hard to do.

One of my favorite courses to play. Depending on hole setup, this can be a very challenging course.

I had been looking forward to playing this course. Heard a lot about it. It's a Utah Classic. It was mostly enjoyable, but seemed very cramped and the lay out was confusing. A lot of fairways all crammed together and discs coming at you from all directions. I would play the course again, but it definitely would not be my first pick.
+1 votes Collin Anderson › Walter Frederick Morrison DGC › June 9, 2015
If you live in Utah, you need to play this course. Other than Solitude, this is definitely the best in town. It's definitely more challenging than most of the other local ones, and it's definitely more fun.

Creekside is my home course!! It will always be, love this place...
+1 votes Chase Jeppsen › Walter Frederick Morrison DGC › February 18, 2015
Drier conditions made it so it wasn't as muddy from the previous moisture. Fairly windy day, more so than normal. Typical trash and vandalism still around.
+0 votes Scott Brass › Walter Frederick Morrison DGC › September 12, 2014
I give this a B+ for the wait that you have some days. This course has shots uphill and downhill, short shots and long shots. There are some extremely technical holes, and then some holes are very open and yours for the taking.

I have only played at Creekside three times now but I enjoy the course layout and having a creek nearby is really cool (when discs don't make a beeline for it that is). There is a LOT of green there (grass, trees, etc.) which I really enjoy. It isn't the best course in the world but it is still a pretty solid A- to B+ course.
+0 votes Nick Collaer › Walter Frederick Morrison DGC › June 16, 2014
Fun course. Holes 4,5,6 all cross over each other making for some long wait times. river comes into play on a few holes.

I liked the Course for sure... lots of Fun Shots... Great Tee's and Baskets... Needs better Signs and work on Flow... Great Elevation changes and friendly locals :-)

Maybe things are different in Utah than Michigan, but this was the most unorganized/ reckless course I've ever played in my life.. I love discing and have played almost ever course in Michigan and didn't have a single bad thing to say about them. If this is the best in Utah, it is still not as good as the worst in Michigan.. I was literally walking in circles trying to figure out where one hole ended and another began.. Almost all of the tee boxes were missing the hole number and direction.. I d ...

Great course. Overcrowding is a problem, but general attitudes af players was good, not for the impatient or someone just wanting to get a quick round in.
+1 votes Jacob Serio › Walter Frederick Morrison DGC › August 20, 2015
This course has a mixture of everything. A very well balanced course indeed. Groomed, wooded, tunnels, open, slight elevation changes, water hazards, you name it creekside has it.
With that being said, there are a few things that bother me about this course. Waaaay too crowded, crossing fairways, and it has a very condensed/ cramped layout.

Everyone has pretty much said it. Tons of obsticles and the baskets aren't always line of sight. Brings on a good challenge. Almost lost a disc here. Clean up of the course would be really nice.
+0 votes Taylor Anderson › Walter Frederick Morrison DGC › June 18, 2013
Had a great time there. Plenty of shade that also adds to the skill level.

Nice course. Many challenges including trees and hills and a disc eating river. Hilly but is nice. Many people come here because it is a challenge but MOST people are nice and are patient.

Needs some underbrush cleared out

This is a great course. Really like the open fairways with all the amazing trees all around you. The optional 3A and 3B holes are also a lot of fun. Course is set in a great location and makes for a great round of golf. Only con for me would be Hole #5 where your throwing right past the tee pad for #6. Other than that, I really enjoyed playing this course for the recent Vibram Birdie Bash this year.

other than slow groups this place rocks...

Waaaaaaay too crowded. Tee boxes right by other holes pins, crossing fairways. A complete cluster f*$k. My wife got hit in the ass, I hit some dude in the face. The people were a$$holes and the vegetation (or lack there of) seemed to be on meth. Best course in the area? Well Ill NEVER come back to this s$*thole
+2 votes Max Collins › Walter Frederick Morrison DGC › November 1, 2012
A great course with your good mix of woods and greens. Plenty of distance variations with varying elevation changes and slopes. Pretty busy most of the time (which is what happens at good courses) but a good disc golf scene. The view of the mountains is also a plus with a perfect amount of water hazards to spark a little challenge.

Great course but the wait time in the on the tees and some of the nonsense that happens there is just horrible
+0 votes Jameson Scott › Walter Frederick Morrison DGC › April 1, 2013
This is my home course, very good course to learn at. Great community! Beginner to Intermediate (maybe a little more difficult than I think, but I've thrown every pad and every placement thousands of times so it seems a little easier) depending on pin placement. Very mild elevation changes.

Everyone already said it: Awesome course, fantastic variety, pins constantly changing. Doubles every tuesday is great
+0 votes Jared Kastleman › Walter Frederick Morrison DGC › May 26, 2012
One of the first DG courses ever established. Good practice area. The sweet thing about Creekside is it has a little bit of everything. Trees come into play, water, elevation, short holes, long holes, doglegs, it's all there. And to top it all off, pin positions are changed regularly, holes have 3-6 different pin positions. This park has seen decades of disc golf and is an institution in Salt Lake City. Crowds are good for the sport, but if you are looking for a peaceful, non crowded course or o ...

I love Creekside! Fun, beautiful course that is a slightly challenging and has many pin locations so you can practice with a lot of different discs and throwing styles. Traffic can suck, just depends on when you play. Fav holes #4 long #9 long and #14 right on the river!

Truly one of utah's gems. This course has plenty for everyone. First time I got the wife out for a game and she loved it. Almost lost a disc to the river gods but miraculously salvaged it for the bank despite the raging water.
-3 votes Rob Laux › Walter Frederick Morrison DGC › July 5, 2011
Decent course with some well designed holes. But the course layout itself is chaos. Holes overlapping and that makes the crowding even worse. Lacking on long holes as well, didn't take out my big drivers once. But with the water and tree obstacles it was a fun course to play.
+0 votes Michael Suchoza › Walter Frederick Morrison DGC › June 30, 2012
Sweet, technical course. Lots of fun, lots of locals. Plan on spending some time in either a) the river or b) the woods. The course contains lots of opportunities for both!
-2 votes magoo Ut › Walter Frederick Morrison DGC › June 14, 2012
good course. good for practicing long tee offs. trees need to be trimmed back a little more. the crowds get wat rediculous sometimes ive waited 15+ minutes at each hole. nut i just get there at the butt crack of dawn and its okay. also has the biggest stoner population out of all the parks ive been too

I agree with shane its a fun course but when you have a group of three and you walk up to a tee pad and there is 8 locals there who all look you right in the eyes then walk away..... It just frustrates your day...

Classic, great, popular course with good variety of tree cover. Officially called "Walter Fredrick Morrison Disc Golf Course at Creekside" after disc inventor from Richfield Utah, see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Walter_Frederick_Morrison . Some use of Big Cottonwood Creek as water hazard here.
