As an avid disc golfer I primarily and passionately designed this course with some feedback from local players and worked diligently with the college to do the best we could to create a course that would flow with campus, safely allow people to play and to bring something new and exciting to that side of Springfield. I believe we reached our goal. This being said, I submitted numerous course designs and we settled on what you get to freely play today. I wanted to have more holes available but due to limited acreage and other constraints I feel we ended up with a beautiful and challenging design. I wanted a course that would be welcoming yet challenging for players as they develop their game. Yes it's long for some, yes there's a water hazard and this is what we wanted. With these challenges local players have been enjoying it and we get positive feedback on a regular basis. The college hopes to start a Clark State Disc Golf Club for students and staff to promote and grow our wonderful sport. There was more to this course than just putting targets in the ground. In time we hope to raise funds to maintian the course and to construct concrete tee pads. Thanks for playing the course and we hope it brings joy, challenge and development to your game. I give this course a B rating as the designer because there is always room for development such as planting trees and building tee pads. Enjoy the game and keep growing.
