Gravel tees don't have hole numbers so way finding can be a little challenging. Maps are available at the front desk but those must be the old layout because the map doesn't make much sense. (e.g. Holes 5 and 8 cant possibly share the same tee pad. Holes 3,4 and 5 go through the woods and are 100% awesome. Open holes have 1 to 2 foot growth so watch your discs carefully. Bring some boots if its raining (not unlikely considering Girdwood is in a rainforest). Worth playing if only for the woods holes esp. Hole 5's basket situated between 2 small streams.

UPDATE AUGUST 2012: After the course had a layout change, Alyeska is now a place worth going to for some DG. Holes 3, 4, and 5 were a good change. Watch for players teeing off on hole 8 (At the top of the hill) as your reach basket 6, and be sure to spot clear fairways and call your own FOURS!! on holes 1, 2, 8 and 9.

new layout is definitely cool. some technical open shots, followed by awesome wooded shots, also some difficult elevation change. If you catch the course on a weekend, there may or may not be music playing from the resort that you can hear throughout the course. The picture of the course should be the basket that has two little streams on both sides of it, friggin sweet!!

this course is a good test for rightys or leftys alike as the 1st 2 holes are open but long and goes up the north face trail near the tram bottom. holes 3,4 and 5 are through the woods and killer! then hole 6 goes up chair 7's far left side. it has a few long downhill holes that are fun then finishes off with a fairly straightforward hole that takes a long throw to reach. newly updated in june '12 and much improved on the old layout!
