Glow Dubs Finale Postponed

As concerns continue to grow about the spread of the Corona Virus and events around the country are cancelling, we believe it is the most responsible course of action to reschedule the Glow Dubs Finale to a later date. This decision did not come lightly but after evaluating all of the information and precedents being set nationally, we believe it is the most responsible decision for the absolute safety of the players and tournament staff. MARCH MUSH TOURNAMENT ANNOUNCEMENT: There have been some questions whether or not we are canceling the event due to the corona virus. The tournament WILL NOT be cancelled.
HOWEVER: To stay consistent with the State of MI Health Department and WHO in decreasing the spread of germs, we are taking precautions by NOT providing lunch for this event. Please plan accordingly. The closest place to eat is around 20 mins from the park, so you will likely not have time to get something if you do not pa ... more

Your health and safety is our top priority, therefore if you feel threatened by the corona virus and would like to withdraw from the tournament, we will provide a refund, no questions asked.

We also ask that you use common sense when interacting with others. No high fives, touching each other’s discs or anything that would increase the transfer of germs. Bring hand sanitizer as the restrooms will not be open yet (there is a port-a-john).

Heads up to all those who bring dogs to the park - Please make sure you have your dog(s) on a leash. Park management has informed me that this will be a focal point for the sheriff’s department this year. If you don't comply, you may be ticketed.

Tag finals will be held at Burchfield Park on Sunday 9/30, tee at 10:30, check in starts at 9:30.
Round 1 is match play elimination and round 2 is stroke play to decide the Club Champ
Match-play will be held on Renegades Trail. Layout will be determined by how many players show up. Number of Matchplay rounds will be determined by how many players show up.
Final round will be 18 holes of stroke play on Rivers Edge. We will play whatever pin locations the park has set. Not sure if they move ... more

CSL Plasma is hosting the 1 st Annual: Beat It Disc Golf Tournament; To Benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation on July 29, 2018 8am-5pm at Grand Woods. This is for a great cause. Howdy folks! Sunday Nov 19th, we hoping to get the sleeves in the ground at Ingham Park! 930AM start time for anyone who can spare some time. Going to need a few shovels and a few hands. Hopefully with 4 or 5 people doing 2 holes each we can knock it out in a few hours before putting league! Hey All! Just a reminder that second week of putting league will be this Sunday 10/29 @ Lansing Brewing Company. We will be there around 1 to setup, and first round will start at (or around) 1:30! The weather will be cooperating with us this week with the forecast calling for a high of 48 and rain outside, so come on inside and putt with us!

Pro Masters Worlds Volunteers Needed

As you may know, the first year of Masters Pro Worlds is happening next week in Grand Rapids, hosted by none other than our good CCR friend Nacho!! Myself, along with a few others, made an offer to Nacho to run one of the featured courses. However, now that courses are assigned and dates/times are posted, I find myself left without help.

As you may know, the first year of Masters Pro Worlds is happening next week in Grand Rapids, hosted by none other than our good CCR friend Nacho!! Cap city challenge

Remember the Cap City Challenge is coming up on june 10th, we will be playing two rounds of 18 holes on the new challenging back 18 layout. food will be provided between rounds. We will be also holding a raffle for some cool stuff like a new ranger h2o bag and other items. the first 50 ams who pay will receive a custom stamped limited edition disc for their players pack.

for anyone who is concerned about the water level dont worry we have a plan and as they say the show must go on.

We are going to start a Sunday singles tag round at Burch at noon. If you have a tag, it is required to put it up. There is no fee for this round. No Tag, No Worries you can still play. Forgot your tag? You can still play but you will not be eligible for the ace pool that week. Wednesday Singles !!!!!!

We are going to drop the Grandwoods round and play at Burchfield on the short layout. As of right now it will be 21 holes again, play HOLE 16 FROM THE OLD SHORT PAD. Please get on the course as you get to there and get checked in, I know everyone has certain people they like to shoot with but if this flex start is going to work everyone needs to show up ready to play and head out on the course. I picked up a mail box that will be placed on the trunk of my car for you to drop off scorecards.

Bengel Nature Center Disc Golf Course

Feb 4th, starting at 10am, we are having a volunteer day at Bengel Nature Center, in Bath, to help cut in the fairways on the front nine. Any and all help, for how ever long you can stay, is appreciated. Pizza and soda will be provided for lunch.

I will be hosting a Mando Discgolf tournament Sunday, October 2nd at Grand Woods park in Lansing. I will attempt raise the 750 dollars needed to purchase a bench for a CCR OG Greg Walker.

There is no extra fee for signing up on Friday the 22nd. This check in is not mandatory, but highly encouraged as it allows the tournament staff to be better prepared.
If you still would like to play, but can't sign up til Saturday, go directly to the course your pool is playing Saturday morning. ... more

Renegades Trail redesign of hole 16/CCR Open News

Renegades Trail Change - We have been working tirelessly to redesign hole 16 on Renegades Trail and it is nearly complete. The fairway is cut and the tee pad is marked, so anyone wanting to WALK IT is more than welcome to. The new pad will be poured this week and will be ready and playable by mid week. Currently there will be one tee pad and you will be throwing to the short pin (blue flag). Everyone will be playing the hole at the tournament. The path taking you to the hole is left of 15� ... more

Hello everyone! Most of the scores for last week have been posted, there are a few people I need to still get to though because there were no last initials on some of your cards. Let me reiterate what Matt said last week.

This week we will be playing 19 holes @ Grand Woods. We will NOT be playing 5 & 6, and we WILL be playing A, B, & C.

One other thing. HOLE SIGNUP & GROUP NUMBERS. We're growing as a league, which is awesome! However, it means that each week we're really pushing an 18 hole course to the limit. However, when I got the cards in and posted scores from last week I noticed nearly as many cards with five people as there were with three people.

SO! In an effort to rectify this and keep our league nights as quick and wait free as possible, score cards will not be a free-for-all.

When you see me for your card I'll ask what hole you're starting on and how many players you have. If you have three or five, we'll look at the board and see if we can make some moves and maximize our foursomes. It may be a little clunky to start, but with your help I know we can make this work.

One more thing, tags tomorrow will be weather dependent, if it's really gross out there I won't make you wait around in it any longer than we have to. See you all tomorrow!

Tuesday Doubles begins 4/5/16

"Hello all, Q here, I am proud to announce and excited to get the CCR, Random Draw, Pro-Am doubles started this coming Tuesday April 5th.

We will be starting this season at Burchfiled Park. You can expect a different layout every Tuesday night. We will move to Grand Woods mid summer, usually first week of July, and then finish the year at Fitzgerald in Grand Ledge. Payout in plastic to the top third, and sometimes more, Ace pool and weekly CTPs.

2016 AM Worlds

To anyone planning on going to AM Worlds this year in Madison WI I have booked a block of hotel rooms from Friday night (July 8th) through Sunday (July 17th). Each room has two Queen beds, a mini fridge, and microwave (sorry no hotel pool). The price per room is $600 or $300 per person. Anyone interested in getting in on this deal please contact me either on the scene or text my phone (517-648-1232). I would like the money by the end of April, if you cannot pay by then you can still get in, however the price will increase slightly to cover the interest/fees on my card.

Grand Woods PSA

The park has informed me that they will be upping the Police presence at Grand Woods. This will include cops on bikes riding through the course. Alcohol is not permitted at the park unless you get a permit from the park. Obviously, pot is also not permitted, period.

This was something some of us thought of at the end of last summer as an excuse to throw some new plastic outside of what we're comfortable with. It will be scored as its own individual division outside of the normal Elite, Advanced, Intermediate, & Rec. If you decide to pay for the sanctioned rounds, you must still play those rounds with the mystery bag.

Tonight, we went through and picked 12 discs, none from the same manufacturer (no Discraft, no Innova, though we do have Discmania and DGA, and yes we know MVP and Axiom are the same company) mostly at random that should run the gamut of shot selection. IF you decide to play this division, your bag can only consist of discs from the approved list, you don't have to buy or use them all of course, and you can have multiples of the same mold, but ONLY discs from the approved list are to be used.

The only caveat (and there had to be one) is you can putt with whatever you want. As long as you are doing a putting throw (jump putts count) you can throw with your putter of choice. NO UPSHOTS.

Buy in for the division will be the same as usual, but there will be no basket for the winner as in the regular divisions, final prize is still being discussed, but talk was leaning towards a voucher (or gift card) towards some nice shoes.

So without further ado, here is the approved list:

Putters: Vibram Summit, Prodigy P2, Westside Harp
(remember you can use your own putter for putting, these are just driving & upshot putters)

Midranges: Axiom Theory, Dynamic Discs Truth, Discmania MD3

Fairway Drivers: Legacy Patriot, Latitude 64 Saint Pro, Millenium JLS

Distance Drivers: DGA Torrent, Gateway Samurai, MVP Photon

If you decide to use these discs, you are responsible for purchasing them and having them ready for the first week of league, though if you're interested, I'm definitely up for coordinating orders to save on shipping.

Players who officially request to withdraw from an event at 14 or less days from the start of the event will receive a 100% cash refund minus up to a 10% handling fee ONLY if their spot in the tournament is filled through either the waitlist or a walkup entry (if offered.) If the player’s spot is NOT filled, the TD has the choice to provide EITHER a 25% cash refun ... more

Fitzgerald Frozen Fling to help Mr Matthew Thomas Toy

Fitz basket auction

CCR Open presented by Exteriors of Lansing player cap change!!!!

Due to flooding on Rivers Edge, player cap has changed to 168 players. The A pool will consist of all Pros, Ma1 and Am masters. The B pool will consist of Ma2 & 3 and all women and all other age protected divisions. If the water level drops and we are able to pump the course dry, we will go back to 3 courses. The A pool will play 2 rounds on a 21 hole layout Saturday and one round at grand woods Sunday, the B pool will play grand woods twice Saturday and Burchfield once Sunday.

Tuesday doubles will begin April 7th at Burchfield. The park will be staffed for anyone needing to purchase their annual golf passes and someone will be at the gate to charge an entrance fee. Buy your disc golf and parking annuals, support the most well maintained and best courses... we are spoiled

Well... there were only 16 1/2 who showed, but to those who did.... Thank you! With entry fees we raised 590, plus Justin Abram donated his acepool money from Sunday Leagues to up the total to 890. Not too bad. After March Mush, I will be ordering new baskets for Fitz!!! I also spoke with the park and they are eager to get a wood-chipper out on the course this spring to clean up all the downed limbs and debris on and off the fairways. By the end of spring, Fitz will have all new tee signs, ... more

We had a great time doing this last year with quite a few players and a fun tournament to end the season with lots of prizes and no cases of frostbite. If you are thinking about coming out at all this year (and we welcome all players to join regardless of tag membership) this week would be a fantastic one to come to, we will be playing the modified 24 hole short/short layout on Renegades Trail. This is going to be a great day to find the landmarks for the alternate holes so that when they're covered in a foot of snow, you know where the pads are.

Volunteer to help grow the sport!

This Saturday at Hawk Island park in Lansing, I need someone to help demonstrate the sport of disc golf to a bunch of kids for the Lansig area. This is a part of the touch a truck day at the park. Many big rigs will be there for kids to play in and we've been invited to set up and show the youth what our game is all about.
The day is Saturday the 13th. Time, 11 am to 3 pm. I'll be out there by 1215, I just need someone to be out there to get things rolling while I'm at work. Message me if you can help!!

Fitz Update

Huge thanks to Zerbe and Buff for helping out from 9am til 9pm getting in the last 9 pads at Fitz! Thank you Jim for skipping your round this evening to help and a BIG thanks to Dustin, from the park, for helping in every stage of this project!!
We now have 18 real life cement tee pads at Fitzgerald Park!!! The newest 9 that were poured today will not be playable for another week... so be patient. Next up, tee signs and directional arrows.

Holes 14 & 15 have changed on rivers edge. 14s basket has been lengthened making the hole 545 feet. 15s fairway is moved and is now a dead straight 300 foot hole.

A good friend of our club, Mark Stephens is running for PDGA State Coordinator as a write in. Ballots come out today and should be in your email. We encourage you to consider a write in for Mark Stephens. He formerly helped run Flint Town Flyers, currently runs Black Ace DG, is Asst TD for DGLO and USADGC, has been td of a tiers and supertour events and many may tournaments. He is an mdgo board member. Mark is knowledgeable, fair, honest and more than capable to help grow the sport in our state. Please.consider writing in Mark Stephens as Michigan State Coordinator.
